Norton GoBack 4.0 Uninstall Problem

Εχω φαει 2 ωρες για να κανω uninstall το Norton Goback 4.0 αλλα δεν μπορω.

Πηγαίνω στον πίνακα ελέγχου και μετά στο Add/Remove Programs. Απο εκεί επιλέγω το Norton Goback 4.0 και πατάω Remove.

 

Κανει κανονικά την διαδικασία και μου λέει: Για να ολοκληρωθεί η απεγκατάσταση πρέπει να κάνεις restart τον υπολογιστή. Πατάω ΟΚ. Και μόλις πατάω ΟΚ μου λέει: Error 25033: You have already selected a command for Norton Goback to perform on the next restart.

 

Και πατάω ΟΚ και δεν το κάνει τελικά απεγκατάσταση. Και είμαι πάλι στην φάση που πατάω remove απο το Add/Remove Programs.

 

Εκλεισα τις διεργασίες που τρέχει απο πίσω το πρόγραμμα, και ξανα κάνω την διαδικασία και δεν γίνεται τίποτα πάλι!! ΕΛΕΟΣ!.

 

Καμιά ιδέα κανείς;

Peter, I understand your concern regarding this issue. Please note that GoBack makes some entries at the MBR of Hard Drive. This issue can be due to corrupted installation. To resolve this issue please follow the following steps:

 

1]Remove changes done to the MBR

By design, GoBack works with the boot record to provide system restoration capability but to troubleshoot this issue with the boot record, you may want to remove the changes that GoBack has made.

2] Run check disk on all your drives and fix any errors(if found).

3] Reinstall your GoBack.

 

1. Ensure all anti-virus programs are disabled, including the BIOS level virus protection

2. Close all programs running in the background by opening the Close Program window and ending task on all items EXCEPT for Explorer and Systray. Pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys at the same time accesses the Close Programs window. In addition you may need to disconnect your DSL or cable Internet connection.

3. Insert the Norton System Works (NSW) CD into the drive

4. In the Norton SystemWorks window, click Install Norton GoBack.

5. Read the Welcome message, and then click Next.

6. Read the License Agreement, and then click I accept the License Agreement.

Click Next.

7. To select a different destination folder, click Browse and select a directory.

8. Select an installation type. Your options are:

Express Installation This is the recommended option.

Custom Installation This option is for advanced users.

You can change the amount of space that is provided for your history files. It also lets you select other physical disk drives that you want to be protected by Norton GoBack.

9. To continue with the default installation settings, ensure that Express Installation is selected, then click Next.

10. When installation is complete, click Finish.

 

Your computer will restart to turn on Norton GoBack.

Aπο ό,τι συμπεραίνω από το μήνυμα που σου βγάζει στην απεγκατάσταση, το GoBack έχει κάνει εγγραφές στο Master Boot Record και φορτώνει σε κάθε εκκίνηση και επανεκκίνηση. Αν θέλεις να το αφαιρέσεις από το MBR, μπορείς μέσω της Recovery Console των Windows να κάνεις FIXMBR και να επανέλθει το MBR στην original μορφή του(χωρίς τις καταχωρήσεις του GoBack δηλαδή) και έπειτα να κάνεις απεγκατάσταση αυτού.

Εκανα αυτά που υπόθηκαν παραπάνω (δυστηχώς) και τώρα πρίν απο την welcome screen των windows xp ο υπολογιστής κάνει επανεκκίνηση. Δηλαδή αυτή η symantec είναι....

 

ΟΧΙ ΠΛΕΟΝ ΑΛΛΟ ΠΡΟΪΟΝ SYMANTEC ΣΤΟΝ ΥΠΟΛΟΓΙΣΤΗ ΜΟΥ! ΦΤΑΝΕΙ!

Μην κάνεις format!!! Κάνε πρώτα και FIXBOOT με τον ίδιο τρόπο και μάλλον θα διορθωθεί.

 

 

Ελπίζω να σε πρόλαβα

dali13gr, δεν με πρόλαβες, αλλά και να με προλάβενες...

 

Εκανα αυτά που μου είπε η symantec, αλλά και τότε ΚΟΛΟΥΣΕ όταν επέλεγα να γίνει disable το GOBACK. Ε, λέω δεν πιάνει αυτό.

Μετά έκανα FIXMBR, και τότε πρίν απο την οθόνη "καλως ορισες" των Windows το μηχάνημα έκανε επανεκκίνηση.

Πάω να κάνω φορμάτ και είχα 3 partitions, τα οποία βέβαια χάθηκαν (μαζί με ΟΛΑ ΤΑ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΑ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙΑ).

Ε αυτό ήταν, δεν μπορούσε να γίνει κάτι χειρότερο. Κοίτα να δεις με ένα πρόγραμμα πως μπορεί να χαθούν τα πάντα...
