Το έχω και εγώ αυτό το πρόβλημα, και άρχισα να το παρατηρώ αφού πήρα καινούργιο καλώδιο USB.

 

Μήπως έχεις πάρει και εσύ μακρύτερο καλώδιο, το οποίο όμως να μην είναι USB2 certified; Αν ναι, πιθανόν να μην είναι USB2 certified. Μόλις πήρα USB2 certified καλώδιο σταμάτησε σχεδόν να μου εμφανίζει το πρόβλημα.

Το είχα πάθει και εγώ αυτό. Ο λόγος ήταν πολύ απλός. Το εξωτερικό κουτί σήκωνε μέχρι 120GB και εγώ είχα βάλει 160GB. Αν θυμάμαι καλά μου το έκανε απο τα 100GB και πάνω. Κοίταξε το και αυτό.

had the same problem. Actually, there is another topic on this issue on this same site which helped solving this. For me, the solution was to lower the IDE bus speed from UDMA 6 to a lower rate (say, UDMA 2)

episis kai ayto: When I got to UDMA2(it sounds ancient), the errors didn't occur anymore during my tests. I guess I could have done it the same way by mounting the hd into a normal desktop and changing the max UDMA mode on the hd using software from the manufacturer as well. Also, the speed difference isn't that great. Writing accesses are slightly slower and reads are about 5mb/sec slower, but the figures are still a lot better than with the cheapo firewire card and definitely better than the USB2 card. Since I've set it to UDMA2, I haven't had a single error yet, and I've been hitting it pretty hard
