sotris99 Δημοσ. 29 Δεκεμβρίου 2005 Μέλος Δημοσ. 29 Δεκεμβρίου 2005 "Resident Evil: Afterlife" is the third film based on the video game Resident Evil' date=' a groundbreaking 3-D adventure game that debuted on Sony's PlayStation in 1996. Capcom, the company with the early 1990s success Street Fighter, adapted Resident for the PC and it soon became the company's all-time best seller. It was followed by a prequel, three sequels, and even a director's cut. A mix of "Night of the Living Dead" and "The Terminator," the game combined cinema-quality graphics and sound, focusing on players' lust for blood. There's also a book series adapted from the game, beginning with The Umbrella Conspiracy. With an assured audience of joystick jockeys, Germany's Constantin Films, which owns the rights to the film, soon decided produce a movie, and legendary "Night of the Living Dead" director George Romero initially was rumored to be tapped for the job, since he filmed several commercials in Japan for the game's sequel, Resident Evil 2. But it was "Mortal Kombat" director Paul Anderson who finally helmed "Resident Evil," which had a $40 million budget. "Resident Evil: Afterlife" follows "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" as the third film in the series. At this point, plot details are still being developed.Paul William Scott Anderson was born on March 4, 1965 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. A graduate of Warwick University in the UK, Anderson directed the notorious film "Shopping" in 1994, which was so violent that it was banned in England and released in edited form in the USA. The film, starring Jude Law and Sean Pertwee, featured thieves who robbed stores by ramming their cars into storefronts. Anderson's newfound infamy gave him the chance to direct box office smash "Mortal Kombat" in 1995, which was adapted from the best-selling computer game and featured Anderson's trademark touches of quick cut editing and awesome scenery. His extraordinary success on this venture allowed him to begin directing "Soldier" starring Kurt Russell, but Russell went on hiatus, delaying the film until 1998. Meanwhile, Anderson directed "Event Horizon" (1997), a gothic horror remake of the 1972 sci-fi classic "Solyaris," but the film fared poorly critically and economically, as did "Soldier." With his career threatening to tank, Anderson dropped his plans to remake "Death Race 2000" (1975), and instead directed in 2000 a made-for-television supernatural mystery movie about a serial killer called "The Sight" which became a minor hit. With his career on the rebound, Anderson directed another video game adaptation in 2002, "Resident Evil," starring Milla Jovavich. Critics were lukewarm about the film, but it did moderately well at the box office, leading to "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" 2004, which Anderson scripted but did not direct, since he was helming "Alien Vs. Predator" (2004). Anderson has long been romantically linked to his leading lady, Milla Jovavich.[/quote'] Και σύμφωνα με αυτό... Resident Evil: Afterlife The story is said to continue Alice's battle with the Umbrella Corp. as she races to expose a virus that is threatening mankind with extinction before a new race of clones called the Undead finishes the job. LATEST NEWS 11/08/05 Although we all pretty much knew this' date=' the film has been given an official greenlight. I've also added a bit on the story above. 9/11/05 Comedian Mike Epps will be reprising his role in this film according to an interview at Blackfilm. 6/20/05 Some small plot details have been posted above. Filming begins in Australia sometime in November or December. 12/09/04 Resident Evil 2 director Paul W. S. Anderson spoke with Now Playing Magazine recently about what's going on with another sequel. He pretty much stated that it's still in talks, but it will most likely happen since the second did relatively better at the box office than the first. He then went on about how invisioned the films to be a trilogy, saying: "I always had a vision for a trilogy of films, and the way I imagined it was that the first movie would be a prequel to the video games, the second movie would be set in the same timeframe as the video games, specifically Resident Evil: Nemesis, and then the third movie I always saw as kind of a sequel, or a postscript, to the video games, set slightly after the time of the video games. So it's something I would definitely like to do. But we're still kind of in negotiations. But there's definitely a will to make the movie, that's for sure." DETAILS - The film will be shot in Australia, with the outback taking place of the Nevada desert, where the film's storyline will take place. - Has been quoted to be a "follow-up to the games". - Will be written by original writer/producer/director Paul W. S. Anderson. - The third film to end the Resident Evil trilogy.[/quote'] Βέβαια παίζει να είναι ράδιο αρβύλα αλλά... εγώ πιστεύω σε αυτό το δημοσίευμα.
