English: Would you sell to a foreigner?

Hello,

I recently tried to get in contact with one of the forum participants about a classified ad, however he replied that he cannot proceed with the sale after I said I can't speak Greek.
While I absolutely understand this position, I would like to know whether I should try my luck with other people or just forget it and settle on getting stuff from the stores and ebay.

What is your take on the matter?

I think that perhaps it had to do with his inability to communicate properly in English. Or perhaps he thought he would have to send the item in question abroad?(if the ad was about an item). A sale is a sale and since someone is looking to get money from his ad, I dont think he would mind selling to anyone on the globe. Personally I had perfect interactions with people all over the world(as a seller and a buyer) through ebay.
