Warner Home Video will release Goodfellas: Special Edition on August 17 in a two-disc special edition for $26.99. No more flipping the disc, we get an all new anamorphic transfer, 1.85:1 widescreen video and an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track.

 

 

There will be two audio commentaries, one with director Martin Scorsese and cast/crew (no details on who that is just yet) and a second commentary with Henry Hill (who was portrayed by Ray Liotta) and ex-FBI Agent Edward McDonald. In addition, there will be four new making-of and behind-the-scenes documentaries.

 

In case you don't know the story, GoodFellas is Martin Scorsese's 1990 film based on the true-life best selling book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi. It followed the career of Henry Hill (Liotta) and how he got caught up with a gang of small-time hoods who aspired to be Made Men. They didn't make it, but they did pull off one of the largest heists in American history. The film also starred Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino.
