Report: FBI tips Italy to possible targets in Rome, Milan

 

ROME (AP) — Italy's state broadcaster is reporting that the FBI has passed on information to Italian authorities about possible targets for terror attacks, including St. Peter's in Rome and Milan's cathedral and La Scala opera house.

 

RAI state radio said early Thursday that "there are no direct signs of concrete threats" in connection with the information. It quoted unidentified Italian government officials as saying Italy receives information from many sources and is neither underestimating nor over-emphasizing the information.

Pope Francis' weekly audience was held on Wednesday without incident in St. Peter's Square,although his bodyguard contingent was reinforced. La Scala's season begins with a gala premiere on Dec. 7, Milan's patron saint's feast day. Some 700 soldiers are being deployed in Rome for security since last week's Paris attacks.

Κατά τις αστυνομικές επιχειρήσεις στο Παρίσι, για τη σύλληψη τζιχαντιστών στο Σαιντ Ντενί, οι αστυνομικοί είχαν στο πλευρό τους και την Diesel - ένα θηλυκό Μαλινουά που ανήκε στην επίλεκτη μονάδα RAID της γαλλικής αστυνομίας.

About two score victims were killed at restaurants by gunmen, and other 89 were killed at the sold-out Bataclan theater (1,500 capacity) by three shooters and their suicide bombs.

It might take a cold heart to say this, but by one measure the Paris attack was a failed plan. Several hundred or maybe even 1,000 could have died if a real mastermind had been in charge. If we accept estimates that eight killers were responsible for the Paris attacks, they managed to kill fewer people, on average, than one unbalanced person did at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Nobody calls him a mastermind.

Εγω στις πρωτες σελιδες το ειχα πει οτι ηταν ετσι αλλα καποιος επεμενε ''ως ειδικος'' κιολας οτι ειχε γινει πολυ μεθοδικη προετοιμασια και μου την επεσε μαλιστα οταν απλα ειπα την γνωμη μου.Τετοιοι ,ευθικτοι ''ειδικοι'' γραφουν στο Μπλα, Μπλα. Παλι καλα για να μπορουμε να γελαμε και με την κριση.

Εγώ αυτό που βλέπω είναι ότι κάποιοι από αυτούς που ανησυχούν ότι απειλούνται οι ευρωπαϊκές αξίες, στην πραγματικότητα δεν είναι φορείς αυτών των αξιών, οπότε αναρωτιέμαι και για ποιόν λόγο ανησυχούν.

Απολογούμαι, αλλά τώρα ειδα αυτό το ωραίο ποστ, στο οποίο θα ήθελα να προσθέσω.

Εδώ η ίδια η Ευρώπη, απειλεί τις αξίες που η ίδια υποτίθεται οτι θα προστάτευε στο πλαίσιο της ένωσής της. Και δεν αναφέρομαι μόνο στο προσφυγικό ζήτημα, ούτε βέβαια στο δικό μας και το χρέος. Δε μπορει να υπάρχουν σε μια ένωση, με ανθρωπιστικές αξίες, χώρες που έχουν θέσει τους δικούς τους διαφορετικούς κανονισμους για να βρισκονται εντός.
