An kai mallon 8a to exeis dokimasei... o enas einai master kai o allos slave etsi?

 

Mou eixe tuxei pantws kati analogo paliotera kai ekei diapistwsa oti eixe problhma o enas mou diskos (SMART error) kai eutuxws ton antikatasthsa egkaira. Ena check me to disk util ths ka8e etairias einai xrhsimo pou kai pou.

Πιστεύω ότι ο ελεγκτής βλέπει μόνο 2 δίσκους συνολικά αλλά ένα σε κάθε καλωδιοταινία="κανάλι".

Έτσι πρέπει να συνδέσεις τους δύο δίσκους στα δύο "κανάλια"=επαφές του controller, αν το άλλο κανάλι είναι serial ata - δεν ξέρω ποιον ακριβώς controller έχει η μητρική σου - τότε θες serial ata δίσκο.

 

Διάβασε ΚΑΛΑ το manual της μητρικής ή του controller σου.

 

Ποτέ - για προσωπική χρήση - δεν χρησιμοποιώ ενσωματωμένους σε μητρική ελεγκτές αλλά έχω πάντα κάποιον σε ανεξάρτητη pci υποδοχή.

O Master σου πρέπει να μην έχει jumperακι ενώ ο slave πρέπει να έχει στην θέση slave.

 

Οι Western Digital έχουν άλλη θέση για τον Master (Single) δηλαδή να είναι μόνος του ο δίσκος πάνω στο κανάλι (το jumperaki στην θέση 3 - στην μεση δλδ) και άλλη θέση για Master (with Slave present) στην οποία περίπτωση ο Master δεν πρέπει να έχει καθόλου jumperακι.

 

Έτσι θα τους δεί και τους δύο.

5.4.1. Install the hard disks

 

The PDC20376 chipset supports Ultra ATA/133/100/66 hard disk drives.

For optimal perfomance install identical drives of the same model and capacity when creating a disk array.

 

Μετά εξηγεί το RAID 0 (striping) και το RAID 1 (mirroring) και καταλήγει με το απίθανο για εσάς - αλλά αναμενόμενο για εμένα - σχόλιο.

 

The chipset supports RAID 0 or RAID 1 for master drives only.

The promise PDC20376 chipset only supports one Master HDD on the PRI_RAID1 connector. HDDs set to SLAVE mode and ATAPI devices are not supported.

 

Παρακαλώ όπως διαβάζετε το εγχειρίδιο της μητρικής και μη γράφετε ο,τι θέλετε.. έτσι - τελικά - δεν θα χάνεται ο χρόνος σας.

Και πως κάνεις RAID με ενα δίσκο? :)

 

Υπάρχει και SEC_RAID1 όπου πρέπει να βάλεις τον άλλο σου δίσκο και εκεί Master?...

Ποτέ - για προσωπική χρήση - δεν χρησιμοποιώ ενσωματωμένους σε μητρική ελεγκτές αλλά έχω πάντα κάποιον σε ανεξάρτητη pci υποδοχή.

 

Έτσι δεν ασχολούμαι με controllers που έχουν lite bios, δηλαδή κάνουν τα μισά απο όσα μπορεί το chipset που έχουν και αγοράζω "φθηνές" μητρικές.
