SATA disk... SUSE 8.2 ????

Exo ena sistima me sata skliro disko... einai anagi na egatastiso kai linux peran twn Windows kai etsi ekana ena fat 32 partition (to linux to ipostirizei ... toul to suse). Omos kata tin egatastasi tou linux... mallon prin tin enar3i tis(!!!) den vriskei kanena disko... tpt! Exo to suse 8.2 kai mou einai diskolo na vro i na agoraso kanouria ekdosi... KSerete an iparxei tpt pou na mporo na kano gia na liso to provlima???? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Το πιθανότερο είναι ότι δεν βλέπει τον ide controller (raid?) πάνω στον οποίο είναι ο δίσκος. Αν ξέρεις το μοντέλο του controller ψάξε λίγο στο internet μήπως βρεις έτοιμη bootdisk για το SuSE.

I diadikasia einai i exeis:Kane auta pou leei o filos crazy_piston molis vreis ton driver eite apo ton kataskeuasti tou controller eite apo alli pigi akolou8ise auta ta vimata:1.) Start the SuSE Linux Installation booting from the CD ROM.

2.) At the "boot options" installation screen,

- SuSE 8.2: press F3 for Driver Disk and then select option "Installation".

- SuSE 8.1: press left "Alt" key and then choose the first option "Installation".

3.) At the "Please insert the Driver Update floppy/CDROM" installation screen, please insert the "x" Driver Disk .

4.) Refer 3.2 and 3.3

5.) Continue with the installation as normal.

3.1 To verify FastTrak Driver Installation:

1. During the partitioning phase, check the Disk Setup screen.

2. If the installation was successful, you will see the SCSI device adapter, shown as /dev/sda (or sdb,sdc,...).

Interface Notes

1. To see information on your array(s) and the Driver version number:

a. Launch your terminal emulation program.

b. Type "cat /proc/scsi/xxx/x" , x is SCSI host number, then press Enter.
