Survarium

 

Veterans from GSC Game World have formed a new studio called Vostock Games, and the first title from the firm, Survarium, is a free-to-play MMOFPS homage to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

 

 

Survarium is a free2play MMOFPS game set in the near future. The game focuses on a mass-scale ecological catastrophe on Earth, the reasons behind vaguely known.

 

Impassable woods advance onto cities from every side, maddened animals and birds attack industrial complexes, military structures, warehouses and power plants. Strange plants and mushrooms grow through concrete and steel. Scientists all over the world haplessly try to cope with the anomaly sprawling across the Earth with terrifying speed. Countries collapse, anarchy spreads throughout the world. Now force dictates who to survive.

 

 

The game is developed with a new proprietary Vostok Engine technology and is planned for release on PC at the end of 2013.

Survarium details

 

Although the Stalker franchise now seems dead and buried, Vostok hopes that its spirit will live on in its first game, Survarium, which was announced earlier this week.

 

"[The] Survarium concept is a next evolutional [sic] step of S.T.A.L.K.E.R we've been working on for the last ten years. Survarium will go a step further, forcing the mankind to fight for survival not only within the closed area of Chernobyl zone, but also far beyond," explained Yavorsky.

 

"We are keen to preserve the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-similar atmosphere and feel of the game. There are quite a few ideas that we will be borrowing into Survarium.

 

"For example, players can expect to see a lot of survival elements, factions, anomalies and so on. We are also open to integrate the players' community to sharing ideas and feature plans to determine what would be most appreciated by the players in the new game."

 

News that the game will be free-to-play wasn't met with universal enthusiasm from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fanbase. However, Vostok was quick to defend the payment model, arguing that it helps maintain a close link with players and combat piracy.

 

"Free-to-play is an actively developing game model worldwide and we can see many big titles going in that direction today," he said.

 

"We can also see a bunch of advantages by sticking to this model: possibility to be closer to the players and continuously develop the game in the direction as liked by the community; a way to deal with piracy which is still a keen problem over here; and we can have shorter production cycles for adding new content to the game and expanding it gradually."

 

The game is expected to launch some time in 2013.

Οι ερωτήσης είναι τυπικές, ρωτάω απλά για να δω αν τα συγκεκριμένα παιχνίδια έχουν πέραση στη χώρα μας.

Έχω παίξει και τα 3 Stalker που πήρα με προσφορά από το Steam. Chernobyl και Pripyat τα λάτρεψα, το Clear Sky όχι τόσο. Ειδικά τα παιχνίδια με το Complete mod είναι από τις καλύτερες single player εμπειρίες που είχα ποτέ.

Από εκεί και πέρα το Survarium που ανακοινώθηκε από την team του Stalker 2 αφού ακυρώθηκε το λεγάμενο, δεν πρόκειται να το παίξω. Σύμφωνα με όσα είχαν πει αν θυμάμαι καλά είναι online game και δεν έχω όρεξη να ασχοληθώ με κάτι τέτοιο. Αν έβγαινε Stalker 2 ή τουλάχιστον survarium με single player mode, τότε ναι. Αλλά μόνο online όχι.

 

Υ.Γ. Καταραμένε όταν είδα το θέμα σου υπέθεσα ότι είχαμε νεότερα με το Stalker 2 και ότι τελικά θα το δούμε κάποια στιγμή!

Εγώ έχω παίξει το πρώτο stalker και είναι ένα από τα ποιο αγαπημένα μου game.

Εχω παιξει και τα 3 STALKER και τα εχω τερματησει ολα. Ειναι τα αγαπημενα μου παιχνιδια. (το shadow of Chernobyl και το clear sky τα εχω τερματησει 2 φορες). Θα ηθελα να δω πως ειναι το Survarium αν και δεν ειμαι σιγουρος οτι θα το παιξω διοτι δεν επαιζα ποτε στη ζωη μου online games. Εαν μου αρεσει πολυ ομως τοτε ισως να γινει το πρωτο παιχνιδι που θα παιξω. Για να δουμε.....
