Πολλές από αυτές είναι διαμάντια άλλες είναι χαμηλού επιπέδου.

Πολλές παραγωγές από αυτές είναι σπανιότατες και δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να βρεθούν.

 

Είναι ταινίες με ελάχιστα εφφέ,

με μηδεν μέσα,

Βρισκόμαστε κάπου 700 χρόνια στο μέλλον. H ανθρωπότητα έχει εξαπλωθεί στα αστέρια και έχει δημιουργήσει μια αυτοκρατορία με το όνομα Terran Federation όμως εξουσιάζεται από μια φασιστική κυβέρνηση. Δεν υπάρχει ελευθερία λόγου παρά μόνο φυλακές, βασανιστήρια, ναρκωτικά που ελέγχουν την σκέψη και βούληση καθώς και πλύση εγκεφάλου. Εξι κατάδικοι αφού δραπετεύουν, προσπαθούν να ανατρέψουν την οργουελλιανή διαπλανητική Ομοσπονδία με το διαστημόπλοιο τους το Liberator ενώ βρίσκονται συνέχεια υπό ανελέητη καταδίωξη. Aν και ο ίδιος ο αρχηγός τους, ο Blake είναι ένας ιδεολόγος επαναστάτης, οι σύντροφοι του είναι δολοφόνοι και μισθοφόροι. Η ανατροπή της Oμοσπονδίας γρήγορα θα καταλήξει σε μια εμμονή, αλλά ακόμη και όταν θα προσπαθήσουν να την εγκαταλείψουν θα αποδειχθεί ότι είναι αδύνατο γιατί η Ομοσπονδία δεν σκοπεύει να τους αφήσει ζωντανούς...

 

Φοβερή σειρά επιστημονικής φαντασίας που κράτησε 4 σεζόν από το 1978 εώς το 1981 και αποτελείται από 52 επεισόδια. H σειρά παίχτηκε στο BBC και ήταν δημιούργημα του φοβερού Terry Nation γνωστού και ως δημιουργού των Daleks στο Doctor Who. Γυρίστηκε χωρίς μεγάλο budget αλλά είχε τεράστια επιτυχία αποκτώντας με το πέρασμα του χρόνου cult status και φανατικούς οπαδούς λόγω κυρίως των ώριμων και μεστών σεναρίων της καθώς και των πολύ αξιόλογων ερμηνειών από όλους τους πρωταγωνιστές. Μάλιστα υπήρχαν επεισόδια που άγγιξαν τους 10 εκατομύρια viewers. Είναι μια hard-core sci-fi dystopian σειρά γεμάτη πεσσιμιστικό πνεύμα και υποβόσκουσα φιλοσοφική θεώρηση ενώ σε όλα τα επεισόδια υπάρχει μια αίσθηση ματαιότητας για κάθε προσπάθεια των ηρώων να αλλάξουν την κατάσταση τους και πως όλες τους οι ελπίδες θα κατέληγαν στο θάνατο. Κάθε σκοπός ήταν εκ των προτέρων καταδικασμένος, κάθε πιθανότητα για το μέλλον θα κατέληγε να πνιγεί στο αίμα και στην διατήρηση της φασιστικής ολιγαρχίας. Το μέλλον δεν είναι το αισιόδοξο μέλλον του Roddenberry στο Star Trek αλλά ο κόσμος του 1984 του Orwell και του Brave New World του Huxley με υπερεξελιγμένη τεχνολογία για να γίνεται καλύτερα η υποβολή και η πλύση εγκεφάλου καθώς και διαστημόπλοια για να σκοτώνουν τους αντιφρονούντες. Μικρός όταν την είδα για πρώτη φορά στην παλιά ΕΡΤ ή ΥΕΝΕΔ, δεν θυμάμαι, μου είχε κάνει φοβερή εντύπωση με το βάθος των χαρακτήρων και των σεναρίων καθώς και με την καταπληκτικη μουσική της, αυτή του Dudley Simpson. Εδώ και χρόνια ήθελα να την μεταφράσω αλλά μόλις πρόσφατα ξεκινήσαμε μαζί με μια παρέα φίλων αυτή την προσπάθεια. Ενα πραγματικό sci-fi διαμαντάκι, σχετικά άγνωστο που δείχνει περίτρανα πως δεν χρειάζονται λεφτά, εκρήξεις και cgi για να φτιάξει κανείς καλή επιστημονική φαντασία, μονάχα ένας άνθρωπος με μεράκι και όραμα. Πρόκειται για μια από τις πιο αγαπημένες μου σειρές και η μόνη πραγματικά ρεαλιστική και με σκληρό, απαισιόδοξο μύνημα. Μιλάμε για πραγματική επιστημονική φαντασία με μεστά και έξυπνα σενάρια και όχι μάχες στο διάστημα και καρικατούρες- εξωγήινους. Ελπίζω να την απολαύσετε.
