Ubisoft Confirms Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2

Prepare to fly high this fall.

 

Ubisoft today confirmed Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC. The game will ship later this fall.

 

"With over one million units sold worldwide, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has become a very successful brand for Ubisoft," stated Bogdan Bridinel, creative director at Ubisoft. "This new H.A.W.X. game is directly inspired by Tom Clancy's books, and it will enable fans to once again experience the excitement and intensity that established H.A.W.X. as a successful brand."

 

Not much about the game's storyline or gameplay was revealed. Ubisoft says the game will once again focus on aerial combat and appeal to a "wide array of gamers." Development is being handled by Ubisoft Bucharest in Romania.

E3 2010: Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 Preview

 

Tom Clancy's HAWX (High Altitude Warfare Experiment) is back! I got the chance to check out an early build of the game at a pre-E3 event last week in Los Angeles and am happy to report that planes are indeed still a big part of the game.

 

But this time around you aren't confined to simple dogfights and bombing runs while manning the cockpit in your warplane. In HAWX 2 players will be responsible for takeoffs and landings on both air force bases and aircraft carriers...

HAWX 2 dated for September 3 in Europe

 

Ubisoft has announced HAWX 2 will land on store shelves in Europe come September 3.

 

The date was dropped during a recent event for the game in London along with new assets which are posted below.

Ubisoft have confirmed that the PC version of their upcoming H.A.W.X. 2 game is going to be delayed.

 

Speaking to Strategy Informer, Game Content Director Bogdan Bridinel confirmed that the delay would be in the range of one to two weeks.

 

"... I'm afraid this will be the case again. I can't state it as a certainty (again, not exactly my area), but as far as I know the PC version will come slightly later," he said. "We're not talking a long period, we're talking one week, two weeks, something in that range."

H.A.W.X. 2 delayed on all platforms except 360

 

Ubisoft has just sent through its latest release schedule, which reveals H.A.W.X. 2 has been delayed on the PS3, PC and Wii.

 

The Xbox 360 version of H.A.W.X. 2 is still on schedule for September 3, with the PS3 version arriving a week later on September 10.

 

Unfortunately for PC fans the wait is even longer and now falls on October 1.

 

Wii owners get the raw deal, as that version seems to have been delayed until sometime on Q4.
