ATI 10.2 GPU Drivers Released; Performance Improvements & New Features Included

 

Catalyst Suite 10.2 introduces the usual assortments of bug fixes and performance improvements, along with new Game Profile technology (used by Nvidia for some time) and official CrossFireX support for ATI Eyefinity multi-monitor setups. Better game performance, sooner: Game profiles help optimize performance so that gamers get an amazing experience. AMD is focusing its efforts to provide access to game profiles when a new game launches – often on the day of launch - and AMD plans to post a separate executable file on AMD.com that users can install to get access to the latest application profiles for improved performance.

More powerful panoramic gaming with ATI CrossFireX technology: Fans of ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU technology can now take advantage of the additional graphics horsepower to help increase game performance or image quality settings when using ATI Eyefinity multi-display technology.

 

Key Features Of ATI Catalyst Graphics Drivers, Version 10.3, Scheduled For Release In March, 2010:

 

Monthly updates for the mobile crowd: Starting in March, AMD plans to issue stability, performance and feature enhancements in monthly ATI Catalyst driver updates for Windows 7 and Windows Vista-based notebooks that feature ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000, HD 4000 and HD 5000 series premium graphics processors. AMD is working closely with most major notebook manufacturers to ensure broad support for this initiative.

 

ATI Eyefinity technology, made better: To further enhance the immersive visual experience of ATI Eyefinity technology, users will now have access to an easy-to-use wizard that will allow them to adjust their display layout to compensate for monitor bezels. In addition, users will be able to adjust the brightness, color and contrast for each individual monitor for greater customization and calibration of each screen in their ATI Eyefinity set-up.

 

Enabling the 3D ecosystem: AMD is enabling third-party middleware vendors to bring more 3D stereoscopic gaming options to consumers by allowing for independent left and right images at 120 Hz.

Performance Improvements:

 

The following performance gains are noticed with this release of Catalyst 10.2:

 

DiRT 2 – Overall performance improves up to 8% on ATI Radeon HD 5970, ATI Radeon HD 5800 series, and ATI Radeon HD 5700 series products

Battleforge – CrossFire ATI Radeon HD 5870 performance improves up to 6%

Unigine Heaven – DirectX 9 CrossFire performance has improved significantly on ATI Radeon HD 5700 and ATI Radeon HD 5800 series products

The Chronicles of Riddick – Assault on Dark Athena – Overall performance on ATI Radeon HD 5970 improves up to 4%

 

Resolved Issues for All Windows Operating Systems:

 

Appropriate prompts will now pop up while creating Eyefinity group with DVI and display port devices in extended mode

Creating an Eyefinity group on the non-primary display now functions properly

Catalyst Control Center now responds properly and selection buttons are available when re-creating Eyefinity group

[Catalyst Control Center] Hotkeys for rotations no longer disappear after disabling rotated Eyefinity mode

With active display in clone mode, creating an Eyefinity group now functions properly and message prompting user to disable the extended desktop will now pop up

System will no longer freeze while accessing the UVD Decoder

Intermittent grey screen or vertical line corruption may randomly appear on the screen

 

Resolved Issues for the Windows 7 Operating System:

 

Flickering grass and white borders are no longer visible in Unigine "Heaven" benchmark in DirectX 9 mode

Performance drop no longer visible on "Resident Evil 5" cinematics scenes

Corruption no longer visible when viewing Unigine "Tropics" demo

[Win7 32-bit] Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 now functions properly while dragged back and forth between the extended split display

During HD playback, unplugging and hotplugging back the display connector no longer causes player to freeze and display incompatible graphics driver error message

Performing rotation or resolution changes no longer causes the player to stop responding during H.264 HD content playback

Pixelation in distant background lights no longer visible in "The Saboteur" game

Enabling Catalyst A.I. in Catalyst Control Center no longer causes severe flickering in Ubisoft "R.U.S.E." beta game

Enabling split screen demo mode now functions properly on WinDVD during Blu-ray content playback

Corruption in specific chapters are no longer visible during "Resident Evil 5" gameplay

System no longer fails and screen distortion no longer visible during Blu-ray content playback with 1680x1050 resolution

Corruption no longer visible in "Resident Evil 5" during in game cut scenes with specific settings and HDR value set to high

Fixed various identified memory leaks in CAL runtime

SiSoftware Sandra 2010 STREAM benchmarks will now complete properly

Resuming DVD or Blu-ray playback after sleep or hibernation no longer causes system to stop responding

Desktop no longer flickers during fullscreen Blu-ray playback with dual-link display on some ASICs

HDTV custom modes being added are now listed under the Desktop Area of the Display Desktop Properties in Catalyst Control Center

Resume playback after sleep or hibernation no longer causes green block corruption on video

Viewing 1080p videos with Adobe FlashPlayer no longer causes display driver to TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery)

Catalyst installation log no longer report properly installed HDMI audio drivers as failed to install

Changes to the AVIVO gamma settings during Blu-ray HD playback are now retained after closing and restarting player

Flickering and corruption no longer observed while playing "Wolfenstein Multiplayer" at high settings

Ρε παιδιά, έκανα σήμερα format, και είπα να βάλω τους 10.2. Κάνει extract τα αρχεία, και ξεκινάει η διαδικασία. Πατάω install, αλλά μετά δεν γίνεται τίποτα..Στις διεργασίες εμφανίζεται το "InstallManagerApp.exe" για λίγη ώρα και μετά εξαφανίζεται πάλι..Τι να κάνω??

Εχω εγκαταστήσει τα VisualC++ και .NET 2.0

Πέρασα και όλες τις τελευταιες ενημερώσεις στα.net frameworks, αλλα τίποτα..

Αυτό μου γίνεται και στους 10.1 και στους 9.12..Δεν ξέρω τι φταίει και έχω απηυδήσει..

απλά όταν κάνετε εξαγωγή το 10.2 πακέτο

 

μέσω cmd εκτελέστε την παρακάτω εντολή 2 φορες

 

C:\ATI\Support\10-2_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Bin64\>atisetup.exe -install

 

δοκιμασμένο σε Allien vs Predator

Το πρόβλημα λύθηκε με ανεξήγητο τρόπο..

Αφού είδα και απόειδα, έβαλα την τελευταία εκδοση catalyst που υποστήριζε τον παλιο δοκιμασμένο InstallShield installer(δηλαδή την έκδοση 9.10)..Βλέποντας το ποστ του φίλου απο πάνω, λέω δεν δοκιμάζω απο το cmd? Απεγκαθιστώ λοιπόν τον 9.10, και πάω να βάλω την 10.2..Σκέφτομαι "δεν ξαναδοκιμάζω αλλη μια φορά με τον κλασσικό τρόπο"? Και ως εκ θαυματος το install ξεκίνησε..Απο ότι φαίνεται για να τρέξει ο νεος installer, χρειάζεται κάποια αρχεία που παρεχονται στις παλιές εκδόσεις..
