Transformers: Battle for Cybertron Announced for 2010

 

The recent copy of Game Informer magazine included a bit of unexpected news. A new game set in the Transformers Universe is currently in development by Activision and High Moon Studios. The game wiill be released sometime in 2010 for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.

 

This version of Transformers will not be based on the Michael Bay movie versions or the original 80s Transformers cartoon. Instead, it will be loosely based on the Transformers War Within comic book series. The designs of the Autobots and Decepticons will look completely new but do pay more of a homage to the original designs than the recent movie versions.

 

Gameplay promises to be a third-person shooter that features campaigns for both the Autobot and Decepitcon side. Transforming is supposed to play a big role and you won't be limited to ground based transformations. You'll even have the option to pick which Transformer you want to control on mission. Multiplayer is promised but no details about what this entails has been given yet.

Αυτό που αναφέρουν κάποια comments, και νομίζω έχουν απόλυτο δίκιο, είναι ότι τα Autobots δεν μπορεί (δεν στέκει) να έχουν μορφές γήινων αυτοκίνητων στο Cybertron.

 

Btw, η ταινία Transformers 3 θα είναι και αυτή "Battle for Cybertron" ?

συμφωνώ με τον προλαλλήσαντα για τις μορφές των Autobots που λογικά θα ισχύει και για αυτές των Decepticons?

 

δεν έχει ανακοινωθεί ο τίτλος για την ταινία αλλά δεν νομίζω να λέγεται έτσι

Transformers: War For Cybertron Official Press Release

Transformers: War for Cybertron features two distinct storylines: the AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe. For the first time in a TRANSFORMERS title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces fans to the entire living, metallic world of CYBERTRON, as well as all-new visualisations of the iconic TRANSFORMERS characters in their original Cybertronian forms.

Hearing High Moon Studios director Matt Tieger talk about the upcoming Transformers: War for Cyberton raises my hopes that fans will get a worthwhile game. Describing it as "a gamer's game," Tieger speaks about Transformers in the same way the folks at Rocksteady, makers of Batman: Arkham Asylum, talk about the Dark Knight. Granted, we've yet to set our eyes on War for Cybertron, but it's clear the goal is to create something special...
