The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom Announced

 

Long-running 'explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate' series The Settlers will continue in spring 2010 with The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom on PC, Ubisoft announced today.

 

Coming from series creator and Dawn of Discovery developer Blue Byte, Settlers 7 features the usual fine-tuning of settlements to optimise transport and production, and three paths to triumph--military, science and trade--with a new victory points system.

 

The Settlers 7 also boasts a new graphics engine and improved AI with "more than a dozen AI profiles, each with unique behaviors," as well as several multiplayer modes with leaderboards, and support for "user-generated and downloadable content."

πειράζει που θέλω να γυρίσει η σειρά στα πρώτα της βήματα; που για να πάρεις μία περιοχή έστελνες τους στρατιώτες από τα φυλάκια να επιτεθούν στο εχθρικό φυλάκιο; είχε πιο πολύ πλάκα το παιχνίδι και τα animation ήταν κόλαση!

The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom - Narrows Down Release Date

 

The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom gives gamers the opportunity to choose the best way to lead their kingdom to victory, in a rich environment set in middle-Europe during the early Renaissance.

 

Ubisoft has narrowed down the original spring 2010 launch window to March 2010.

Εύχομαι να μας ξαναγυρίσει πίσω στα strategies, έστω και για λίγο, γιατί το Red Alert μας απογοήτευσε.

Blue Byte revealed that mid-January it will start a closed beta test giving fans a chance to check out the tutorial missions, as well as skirmish multiplayer maps.

The Settlers 7 is the latest in the long-running strategy franchise from Blue Byte Software. The series made its name on the basics of 4X-style strategy, but more recent installments in the series strayed from the original approach of developing an economy before building an army or expanding your settlements. At a recent Ubisoft press event, Benedikt Grindel, the senior producer, stated that the developers wanted to "return The Settlers 7 to the classic economy that fans knew well and make them much deeper, while keeping the gameplay more accessible for newer players.
