The information that has been revealed up to now is quite interesting and the first screenshots make gamers hungry for more. Now PC Games Hardware had a chance to interview Splash Damage's Technical Director, Arnout van Meer, who had already had this position during the development of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. As usual our questions focused on the technical aspects of the game and the engine which it is based on. Currently a more exact release date than Spring 2010 is not available, but the available Brink footage is worth-seeing...

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 28 Οκτωβρίου 2009 Μέλος Δημοσ. 28 Οκτωβρίου 2009 Brink single-player to “compete” with “Halo, Call of Duty, Gears” Brink’s single-player will be comparible in size – and quality, from what we saw of it today – to the biggest names in the action business, Splash Damage boss Paul Wedgwood said in his EG Expo session this afternoon. When asked how long the game’s story would be, the developer said: “In terms of unique gameplay, we’re still kind of nailing exactly what that’s going to be, but it’s certainly going to compete with other big triple A shooters, so if you think of things like Halo, Call of Duty, Gears, that sort of thing: it’ll be along the same lines.” Wedgwood added that the shooter will have much replay value and backstory. “A big goal for us is to make the game really, really playable. In the same way you have a racing game, you go through the story mode but there’s still a hell of a lot more to still unlock and play and Achievements and things to do,” he said. “We’re doing that a lot with our environment design… At the centre of the map I just played through there’s a huge ship called Hope, which is an old chemical ship, and there’s a whole backstory to that ship. And the more you play that map and the more you play through the environments you become more aware of its backstory and everything that’s going on. “There’s a definite a reward for exploration rather than just playing through the game once.” Brink’s out for PC, PS3 and 360 next spring.

Word of the delay emerged via G4, which today posted a new video of the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 shooter that ends with the phrase "Revolution Begins Fall 2010." We've contacted publisher Bethesda for more details. In the meantime, why not check out the video, which details the class-based FPS's S.M.A.R.T. movement system:

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 18 Μαρτίου 2010 Μέλος Δημοσ. 18 Μαρτίου 2010 Brink has two campaigns, open progression options Splash Damage shooter Brink won’t saddle you with any namby pamby “you have to play this game in order” fascism, creative director Richard Ham’s told Gamespot. The FPS, set on a floating city at war with itself in the near future, will feature two campaigns you can apparently play in any order you choose. “At the beginning of the game, you decide which side you want to fight for in the Ark’s civil war,” said Ham, referencing the shooter’s resisting and authoratitive factions. “What’s interesting is that once you finish that campaign, the story will rewind, and you’ll get to play it from the other side. You’ll still use your same character (so you won’t lose all the progress you’ve made buying abilities and unlocking weapons), but you’ll be going through a completely different storyline, going on completely different missions.” Ham added: “While you’re going through either of these campaigns, you can jump around in the storyline at any time, however you want, and even jump campaigns if you prefer. “Maybe you’re stuck on a tough mission and want to skip ahead, or maybe you saw a friend come online and you want to play with him, even though he’s on the other campaign... We don’t tell you how to play the game; you make your own rules.”
