Ελλάς - Ινδία πρωτοποριακή κινηματογραφία;

Στη στήλη media του sport24 είδα αυτό:

 

“Στο επίκεντρο μια πολυδάπανης χολιγουντιανής κινηματογραφικής παραγωγής θα βρεθεί το Λεωνίδιο το επόμενο διάστημα, καθώς το Σεπτέμβριο ξεκινούν στην πρωτεύουσα της Επαρχίας μας τα γυρίσματα μιας αμερικανικής ταινίας, στην οποία θα πρωταγωνιστήσουν διάσημα ονόματα ηθοποιών του Χόλιγουντ! Ο λόγος για την ταινία «Arcadia Lost», που θα προβληθεί στις κινηματογραφικές αίθουσες σε όλον τον κόσμο το 2009, με πρωταγωνιστές τους Αμερικανούς ηθοποιούς Nick Nolte, Rory Culkin και Haley Bennett, καθώς και τον Έλληνα ηθοποιό Ρένο Χαραλαμπίδη. Σεναριογράφος και σκηνοθέτης της ταινίας είναι ο κ. Φαίδωνας Παπαμηχαήλ, στον οποίο οφείλεται και η επιλογή του Λεωνιδίου, ως τοποθεσία εξέλιξης της υπόθεσης του έργου.”

 

Κοιτάζοντας στο facebook, βρήκα την περίληψη της ταινίας:

 

A coming-of-age road movie with a mystery at its heart, Arcadia Lost explores Greece through the eyes of teenaged Americans, mapping materialism and innocence onto timelessness and spirituality. In temples, jungle towns and crowded cities, the teens encounter a country both foreign and familiar, a place that becomes the landscape of the mysteries of their own minds and teems with life and death, the hungry and the sated, the sacred and the profane.

 

Charlotte and Sye are not brother and sister, but they find themselves thrown into those roles when their respective parents marry and decide the new family should bond on an extended honeymoon in Greece. By the time the plane lands in Madras and they arrive at the dilapidated Malibar Hotel, tensions are already beginning to surface-15 year-old Sye clutches his camera as obsessively as he has since his real mother died, while 16 year-old Charlotte begins to see herself as the sexual rival of her less-than-secure mother. Soon, the children become an obstacle to the fledgling marriage, so the newlyweds resolve to send them home-to boarding school, or worse.

 

During an emotion-charged drive toward the airport, the car swerves and rolls into a roadside river. The kids are thrown free but the parents slip below the dark water. How much of the accident was the teens' doing? Stunned and desperate, unsure of their guilt, they wander along the road into the vast Greek countryside. At a village, they're confronted by hoards of begging children but are rescued by Benerji, a young Greek businessman turned Sadhu. The kids keep mum about their circumstances. Instead, they agree to accompany Benerji toward the headwaters of the Ganges for a yearly festival. The trio joins a vast line of pilgrims journeying to the festival. While Sye renounces his camera and takes the beginning steps toward becoming a Sadhu, Charlotte makes certain discoveries of her own. At the headwaters of the Ganges, the streets and waters are filled with worshipers, flowers, smoke. Unsure of what to do, Charlotte and Sye dip under the water. Suddenly, they find themselves transported to another river: a car passes overhead, splashes, and begins to sink. They swim frantically toward it, peer through the windows, and discover the truth.

 

Είναι δυνατόν να θέλουν να γυρίσουν ταινία στην Ελλάδα που να περιλαμβάνει τον Γάγγη, ζούγκλες και ινδουιστές μοναχούς;;;; Τι έγινε ρε παιδιά, που έλεγε και ο Σπύρος Παπαδόπουλος;
