Divinity 2: Ego Draconis

Official world premiere at GC 2008

 

At the Games Convention 2008, DTP will officially present Divinity 2 to members of the press, here is the relevant part from the invitation they just send out:

 

We are looking forward to present you Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis for PC and Xbox 360

 

It is not mentioned if the game will also be shown in the public section of the GC, but my guess is that is isn't as this presentation is by invitation only.

Divinity 2 - First Screens and Video

Larian Studios has confirmed to CVG that the sequel to Divine Divinity will be released on Xbox 360 and PC sometime in Q2 2009.

 

The game, entitled Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis, will continue the Divinity saga where the previous game left off.

 

Players will start off as a young Dragon Slayer who will ultimately become a Dragon Lord.

 

From what we've seen, an in-depth story will be complemented by a multi-faceted quest structure that offers a number of potential solutions to each mission.

 

So for example, in one village we visited our Dragon Slayer discovered that the local blacksmith was having an affair with a married woman.

 

When the woman asked us to take a letter to the smithy, we could do as she instructed, read it, take it to her husband, destroy it, or blackmail either of them.

 

The decision had a number of consequences too. The blacksmith would raise or lower his prices based on the outcome, future quests would be opened or closed to us and we were promised that we'd encounter one or both of them later if they ended up leaving town.

 

Divinity fans will be happy to know that composer Kirill Pokrovsky will be returning to create the soundtrack for the new game. Fans of The Witcher might want to keep an eye on this one.

Divinity 2: Min versus Max graphics comparison

Thanks to the Gambryo Engine the action RPG Divinity 2: Ego Draconis offers successful but not outstanding visuals.

 

In contrast to its two predecessors Divinity 2: Ego Draconis focuses on a modern engine known from Oblivion and Fallout 3 - the Gamebryo Engine. Despite the similar graphics motor the visuals of Divinity 2: Ego Draconis cannot compete with the two other RPGs. The aggressive LOD system and the often spongy textures are not completely balanced by the harmonious illumination. Furthermore there are graphical errors like strongly stuttering water. A further deficit is the anti aliasing which did not work on three of our systems. Benchmarks without anti aliasing are hardly exciting due to the 60 fps lock since most of the cards achieve this value.

 

The following three comparisons show the visual loss from maximum details with 8x MSAA and 16:1 AF to minimum details.

Για να αρέσει στους γερμανούς πάει να πει ότι θα είναι και παιχνιδάρα..

Είδα και ένα video από το gameplay του και εντυπωσιάστηκα. Καταρχήν βγάζεις φτερά πριν καν κυκλοφορήσει το aion

 

 

Αντέ να βγει η Αγγλική έκδοση. Φέτος τον χειμώνα βλέπω μεγάλο rpg κάψιμο, το ένα game καλύτερο από το άλλο. Risen, dragon age, gothic αυτο εδώ..
