BioShock 3 Announced

Rapture gets the trilogy treatment.

 

Speaking to investors in a quarterly financial conference call today, Take-Two Interactive chairman Strauss Zelnick confirmed that plans exist for a third BioShock game, which will likely coincide with the release of the Gore Verbinski-directed film version of the game franchise.

 

At the tail end of the call, when asked when Take-Two expects the Verbinski film to hit theatres, Zelnick responded, "Its unlikely the picture would be released coincident with BioShock 2. It's more likely it would be released coincident with BioShock 3."

 

It's been less than three months since Take-Two execs officially confirmed its plans for BioShock 2, which will be handled by the company's new 2K Marin studio. BioShock 2 is set for release in Q4 of Take-Two's fiscal year 2009.

 

No platforms for BioShock 3 were announced on today's conference call, and there was no mention of which studio will be involved with the project.

2K: BioShock 3 could return to Rapture

 

The third BioShock game could once again return to Rapture as a setting, 2K Marin's creative director, Jordan Thomas has said.

 

Speaking in an interview with OXM, the BioShock 2 boss said that the underwater city is "one of the characters we don't want to let go".

 

"I think Rapture remains fertile for as much expansion as a team sees in it," he explained, when quizzed on Rapture's future in the series.

 

"I absolutely believe that there might be future games set in Rapture in whatever time period, but I would also say that I think that the Bioshock brand is big enough that it could evolve."

Σήμερα παρουσιάστηκε από τον Ken Levine στο Plaza Hotel της Νέας Υόρκης ένα live demo από τον επόμενο τίτλο στη σειρά Bioshock. To Bioshock Infinite.

Ο οποίος θα έχει μια σημαντική... αλλαγή στο περιβάλλον του παιχνιδιού όπως θα δείτε από το teaser / anouncement trailer.

 

 

Η κυκλοφορία αναμένεται το 2012 για PC, PlayStation 3 και Xbox 360. Το παιχνίδι αναπτύσσεται και πάλι από την Irrational Games (2Κ Boston).

Interesting fact #1: Ο ήρωας του παιχνιδιού λέγεται DeWitt - DeWitt έλεγαν και την γκόμενα του Τιτανικού (o oποίος -interesting fact#2- ναυάγησε το 1912, ημερομηνία που διαδραματίζεται και το παιχνίδι) που υποδυόταν η Κέιτ Γουίνσλετ στην ανάλογη ταινία.
