kostacurtas Δημοσ. 13 Μαρτίου 2009 Δημοσ. 13 Μαρτίου 2009 BioShock 2: Co-op, Soviets? What are being reported as the first details on BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams have emerged via the new issue of US mag Game Informer. According to supposed subscriber holders on 2K's forums the second game will feature two-player co-op, underwater exploration levels and controversially, no Big Daddies what-so-ever. Potential Spoilers Ahead Apparently the game (which has now been confirmed for a PS3 release) starts of with you, private investigator Jack Abbott, as your daughter's snatched from your New York City beach house by the now infamous Big Sister - the main horror of the game. After a boat chase and deadly encounter with the mysterious assailant you're knocked out and end up back in the underwater city of Rapture. Seven years have gone by since the events of the first game and Rapture's even more flooded and ruined than before - some levels will even require you to don a diving suit to progress. But this time you're not the only one who stumbles upon Rapture... according to the details, at some point in the game a Soviet submarine stumbles upon the city and you're left as the sole defence against the dirty Ruskies from acquiring Adam and using it against the Americans in the Cold War. Soviet baddies are said to be far smarter than the dopey Splicers, using cover and flanking intelligently as you'd expect. In the search for your missing daughter you'll progress through unexplored levels of the city including a Zoo complete with freakish, spliced animals. A spliced Rhino and an "epic underwater boss fight" with a gigantic squid are noted. New enemies include spliced dogs and bipedal robots which can be hacked in the same way as the machines from the first game, claim 2K forum boys. Two new plasmids have also been detailed; one slows down time for a few seconds, the other, more interesting mutation is Telepathy, which gives you the ability to eavesdrop on the thoughts of NPCs and gain information, such as the combination for a keypad. Co-op and the cutting of Big Daddies might raise a few eyebrows, but we're confident this'll turn out brilliant. We'll verify the info when a copy of Game Informer turns up... Don't forget to read our summary of the officially released plot details here. UPDATE: A 2K spokesperson has told CVG that the publisher "can't confirm any content details at this stage." Update: Rumored BioShock 2 Details Aren't True, Says 2K The rumored BioShock 2 details making their way around the internet aren't factual, publisher 2K Games tells Shacknews. "This rumor isn't true," stated 2K community manager Elizabeth Tobey. "Do not believe everything you read on the internet." She added that only one aspect of the rumored details are accurate, and pointed to Game Informer's recent note, which indicates there is only one Big Sister.

14 Μαρτίου 2009 Actual BioShock 2 Details: You Are Big Daddy Following this morning's brouhaha regarding fake BioShock 2 details, actual information on the game is starting to come out as subscribers receive the latest Game Informer. The sequel has players assuming control of "the first ever" Big Daddy, according to creative director Jordan Thomas. Players will be armed with a drill, and will also be able to upgrade their weapons and various plasmids. As you liberate Little Sisters from other Big Daddies, you'll be able to either Harvest or Adopt them. Adoption apparently lets players escort a Little Sister around levels, fighting off splicers as the Little Sister harvests the all-powerful Adam from corpses. The information surfaced over at the GameSpot Forums, and was backed up by blurry pictures of the article. The posters there and at NeoGAF also a provided wealth of other not-yet-verified details, apparently coming from the same source as the pictures. Those unconfirmed details are listed below. Shacknews can confirm the validity of the above information, but can't yet say the same for any of the following points: * The game is set 10 years after the first BioShock. * There will be a multiplayer mode, but no details were given. * The Big Sister is a grown-up Little Sister, and she's hunting you. * Some levels take place on the sea floor outside of Rapture. * The Big Sister will periodically pop up after you kill enough Big Daddies. Her arrival is apparently signaled by a Little Sister singing a song. * The Big Sister is described as fast and "the hardest thing in the game." She'll utilize telekinesis to throw objects at you or use them as shields. * Your drill overheats, and cannot be used constantly. * As a Big Daddy, you'll be able to do that nifty shoulder bash move. * Upgrade trees are now more diverse. * The Incinerate plasmid allows you to throw a fireball or shoot a stream of fire, depending on upgrades. * Using Incinerate on a Cyclone Trap will result in a flaming trap. * You can now heal damaged turrets and bots. * The game will reveal how Adam is recovered from Little Sisters. The 2K Marin-developed shooter sequel is set to arrive between August 1 and October 31, 2009, and is "destined" for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The company has yet to state which versions will hit by October's end.
