Windows XP Update ψάχνει ψάχνει χωρίς να σταματά...

Επειδή τα παθήματα γίνονται μαθήματα δείτε το παρακάτω:

Αποφάσισα να βάλω τη δοκιμαστική του office 2007 που περιλαμβάνεται σε ΟΛΑ τα περιοδικά αυτό το μήνα. Αφού τέλειωσε η εγκατάσταση, αφού το περιεργάστηκα για μια δυο μέρες, σκέφτηκα "όχι, δε θα πάρω, μια χαρά είναι το 2003".

Απεγκατέστησα λοιπόν το office 2007 και μετά από μια δυο μέρες, είπα να δω αν υπάρχουν updates για το λειτουργικό. (Η γνωστή διαδικασία: windows update--express ή custom κτλ κτλ).

Αμ δε... Επιλέγοντας custom άρχισε να ψάχνει, να ψάχνει, να ψάχνει - ασταμάτητα χωρίς να τελειώνει ποτέ το ψάξιμο... Φαίνεται ότι δεν άρεσε στα windows που έβγαλα το 2007... Κάποιες φορές μάλιστα, εμφανιζόταν το πανέμορφο "internet explorer 7 is not responding"...

 

Ψάχνοντας στο δίκτυο βρήκα τα παρακάτω ενδιαφέροντα:

(Σ.: αν έχετε το ίδιο πρόβλημα, μην πείτε στον κόπο να δείτε τα βήματα 1 και 2. Πηγαίνετε στο βήμα 3, εκεί είναι το πρόβλημα, κατεστραμένο temporary folder of windows update)

First, let us focus on your computer's Windows Update issue.

 

This symptom indicates that some third-party programs adversely affect the connection of Windows Update or the ActiveX components for Windows Update cannot be installed properly in the computer. We can take the following steps to get this issue resolved:

 

Step 1:

Please check if any of the following programs are currently installed on the computer that has the issue:

 

Sygate Personal Firewall

Norton Internet Security

Freedom Firewall

Zone Alarm Firewall

 

If they are, please temporarily turn them off and check the result on Microsoft Windows Update Website. If you encounter problems disabling these programs, I recommend completely uninstalling the programs from the computer. Please be advised that before disabling the security program, it is recomme

nded to turn on the Windows XP built-in firewall (Internet Connection Firewall) first to secure the computer. To do this, refer to the following steps:

 

1. Click Start, click on the Control Panel, double-click Networking and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

2. Right-click the connection where you would like to enable the ICF, and then click Properties.

3. On the Advanced tab, click the box to select the option to protect my computer or network.

 

Step 2: Re-registry the related Windows Update files.

1. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter.

2. In the opened window, run the following commands:

 

regsvr32 wuapi.dll

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll

regsvr32 atl.dll

regsvr32 wucltui.dll

regsvr32 wups.dll

regsvr32 wups2.dll

 

Please check if you receive any error when trying to re-register these components. If not, please try to visit the Windows Update site again.

 

Step 3: Remove the temporary folder of Windows Update.

This behavior may occur if the temporary folder of Windows Update has been corrupted. We can refer to the following steps to remove this folder. Please be assured the folder will be created again when we visit the Windows Update site again.

 

Please click Start, click Run, type in "cmd" (without quotations) and press Enter. Please run the following commands in the opened window to remove the folder.

 

1. Type in "net stop WuAuServ" (without quotations) and press Enter. You will receive a message stating the Automatic Updates service was stopped successfully.

2. Type in "RD /s %windir%\softwaredistribution" (without quotations) and press Enter. Please press Y when you are prompted to remove the folder.

3. Type in "net start WuAuServ" (without quotations) and press Enter to restart the Automatic Updates service.

 

If you encountered any error message when performing my previous steps, please send the Screenshot for further research.

 

1. Keep the window on the screen.

2. Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard.

3. Click Start, click Run, type "mspaint", and click OK.

4. In Paint, click Paste under the Edit menu, click Save under the File menu, type a file name for the screenshot, choose JPEG as "Save as type", and click Save.

 

Please send this file to me at v-30judzatmssupport.microsoft.com.

 

However, if the issue persists, please let me know if you receive any error message when trying to perform the above steps. Please also provide me with the following information for research. Please first send the System Information to me:

 

a. Press Start, Run and type in msinfo32. Press OK.

b. Choose Save from the File menu and save it as an NFO file.

c. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder".

d. Send the file to v-30judzatmssupport.microsoft.com, with the case ID in the subject line.

 

Please also attach the latest Windows Update log (C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log) for my research. To locate the file, click "Start", "Run", type: %windir% and then press Enter. Since there are two log files with similar names, please ensure you send me the "WindowsUpdate.log" file in the open folder

If you receive any error message on the website, please send me the Screenshot for further research.

 

In additional, I'd like to check the following points on your side:

 

1. Is the computer currently residing in a company network (LAN) or domain environment?

2. Is the computer connected to the Internet via another computer, router or proxy?

Τώρα γιατί με φοβίζεις;;; Θέλω και εγώ να βάλω τη δοκιμαστική έκδοση των 2007 για 60 ημέρες. Είπα βέβαια να τα βάλω αργότερα μιας και σε λίγο καιρό αρχίζουν οι εξετάσεις

 

Από την άλλη όμως θέλω πολύ να τα δοκιμάσω

Δεν είναι απαραίτητο ότι είναι κατεστραμμένο. Μπορεί απλά να έχει πολλέεεεεες καταχωρήσεις.

 

Μου έχει τύχει σε εγκαταστάσεις να χρειάζεται περίπου 2 ώρες για να γίνει Windows Update με 100% cpu usage (svchost.exe), οπότε το μηχάνημα να φαίνεται κολλημένο στο μεταξύ... Μετά από 2 ώρες δουλεύει και κάνει update κανονικά.

Και φυσικά αν σβήσεις το software distribution ή αν εγκαθιστάς τα updates με παράμετρο no-uninstall (οπότε και δεν μπαίνουν στο software distribution), τότε το windows update τελειώνει σε λίγα λεπτά.

 

Το νέο Windows Update ActiveX control πάντως που βγάλανε τον τελευταίο χρόνο είναι πολύ χάλι.

Δε μιλάμε για εγκαταστάσεις.

Μιλάμε για έλεγχο updates ρουτίνας.

Και ποιος "φυσιολογικός" μέσος χρήστης windows, κάθεται ήρεμος και περιμένει δυο ώρες να δει τι αναβαθμίσεις θα του προσφέρει η microsoft?

Μάλλον δεν το είπα καλά, δεν εννοούσα ότι πήγα να εγκαταστήσω κάτι.

Απλά έλεγα για PC που έχω εγκαταστήσει (=στήσει) ο ίδιος, εν αντιθέσει π.χ. με αυτά που έχω "ακούσει" να συμβαίνει αυτό το πρόβλημα...

 

Απλό windows update πήγα να κάνω και ήθελε ώρες. Το "2ωρο περίμενε" το έχω δει σε 5-6 PC μέχρι στιγμής...

Σωστός φίλε danaos με τη λύση σου, αλλά άθελά σου (και χωρίς να τρέχει κάτι σοβαρό) επιβεβαίωσες τη γνωστή ρήση (φοβού τους δαναούς και δώρα...). Το δώρο σου χρήσιμο (εμένα ήθελε 20-30 λεπτά για update - τώρα μόλις 20-30") αλλά πλέον δεν υπάρχει το bonus του office 2003 update το οποίο ήταν το άλλο κατάλοιπο της απεγκατάστασης του 2007. Όχι ότι θα μου λείψει κάτι σημαντικό, απλά το αναφέρω.
