Το Project Offset ήταν το παιχνίδι που θα λάνσαρε η Intel για το Larabee. Τους έχει πάρει ολίγον τι η κάτω βόλτα γενικώς, το forum τους έκλεισε τον Μάρτιο, νέα τους δεν έχουμε εδώ πέρα από τα tech demos και κάτι leaked videos.

 

Και μίας και που το Larabee διαολοστάλθηκε με συνοπτικές διαδικασίες (), πολύ φοβάμαι ότι χάθηκε και το P.Offset. Κρίμα και φαινόταν ωραίο

Project Offset Axed, Developers Form New Studio

 

Intel has officially axed Project Offset, an unsurprising development considering the cancellation of their Larrabee chipset for which the action game was going to champion. Announced 2005, the Offset team was formed by several members of S2 Games and quickly caught everyone's eye with the release of footage from a graphically advanced game. The engine was licensed to a MMO company (long since closed), and then in 2008 Intel announced that they had acquired the development team and engine to help promote upcoming technology, later revealed as Larrabee. Project Offset was also to be integrated with the Intel-owned Havok physics middleware for further promotional purposes. As was typical for the team, they went dark, occasionally releasing media or hyping their fans up with news of impending releases that never occurred.

 

This February Intel released a technology video from the game, assuring that development continued apace, but soon after the official, active forums were moved to Intel's own site, and then in March shut altogether. Now, the firm has released a statement, confirming the project's cancellation following five, long years of hype:

 

Intel purchased Offset Software to improve our game development knowledge-base and to further Intel's visual computing technology development expertise, helping the company offer robust products, support, and tools to customers. With the recent changes in our product roadmap, some of the resources and technologies from the acquisition are being re-applied to help support new graphics related projects. Additionally, other Offset Software team members have moved onto other external projects outside the company.

Καλα μου τα ελεγε το φιλαρακι στην Intel γερμανιας αλλα ελεγα πως λεει μαμακιες....Κριμα γιατι ειχαν επενδυσει πολλα στο offset.

Kρίμα,αλλά ας κλείσει το θέμα που καθόμαστε και ασχολούμαστε ακόμα με αυτήν την βλακεία,που δεν θα κυκλοφορήσει και ποτέ.
