DD: It's at... the script is written and as far as I know we're all trying to shoot in December at some point. We would all love it if we could keep it a secret and just give everybody a fresh experience of not knowing what the movie's about. I know if I was a fan of the show I would kind of be excited to be surprised.

So what about reprising the role in the upcoming "Sex" movie now shooting in New York?

"I think there's a lot of other guys ahead of me..."

It's just as well. Duchovny has plenty of other things keeping him busy professionally: "'Things we Lost in the Fire' is coming out in a couple of weeks with Halle Berry and Benecio del Toro and then I'll go do the "X-Files" movie in December, we'll start shooting then."

Σε (τηλεφωνική) συνέντευξη πριν 2 ώρες στο KROQ radio και μετά από ερώτηση μέσω e-mail του gunmetalgray που διαβάστηκε στον αέρα, ο DD είπε ότι δεν έχει δωθεί ακόμη το greenlight όσο ξέρει ο ίδιος, ΑΛΛΑ επανέλαβε και πάλι τα ίδια για τον Δεκέμβρη.

Duchovny Had X-Files Reunion

 

The X-Files star David Duchovny told SCI FI Wire that he had a lunch reunion in Los Angeles recently with his co-star Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter to discuss the long-gestating sequel movie.

 

"That was nice," Duchovny said while promoting his latest movie, Things We Lost in the Fire. "I see Chris quite a bit. We live kind of in the same neighborhood. We live within maybe 10 or 15 miles of one another. But I hadn't seen Gillian in a while. So it was like a reunion. It really was. It was more emotional than I would have though it was [going to be]. If you spend that much time with people and go through that much, there's a lot of residual feeling."

 

The X-Files 2 is tentatively set to go before the camera in December, with Carter directing, based on a script he wrote with veteran X-Files writer-producer Frank Spotnitz. Duchovny will reprise his role as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder, and Anderson will return as Special Agent Dana Scully.

 

The plot remains a secret, but Duchovny expressed his hope that the second feature film will recapture the essence of the series, which ran for nine seasons, from 1993 to 2002. The hit show spawned a spinoff (The Lone Gunmen) and the first movie, The X-Files, in 1998.

 

"I want us to go out and do what the show always did best, which is really smart, scary, ultimately ambiguous stuff," Duchovny said. "I think there's been a lot of shows and movies that kind of tread the same area, or tried to, and I think we always did it best. And I hope we can go out and do it best again." —Ian Spelling

The truth is well and truly out there... X-Files fans can rejoice as it looks like a second movie is almost certainly on the cards.

Speaking on the red carpet of his new film Things We Lost In The Fire, David Duchovny hesitantly admitted there will be a return of agents Mulder and Scully.

"Yeah, we're going to do it in December I think," said the actor.

However, he wasn't too forthcoming on the details, saying only that "it'll be fun" and refusing to give any of the stories away.

The sci-fi show - which saw David starring as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson playing Dana Scully - ran from 1993 through to 2002 and was one of the American Fox network's first major hits.

Today, David's just hoping he hasn't piled on the pounds.

"Hopefully the clothes will fit, it's been five or six years," he smiled.

It's rumoured the film will be a supernatural stand alone story and not part of the alien/conspiracy mythology.

Last month movieweb.com reported that David and his former co-star Gillian had received their scripts.

 

The site quoted David as saying: "I never really wanted the show to die or to quit it. I got tired of the grind of making a network television show but I never tired of the character."

Hey everyone!

 

FINALLY, after 3 weeks of trying, my husband finally was able to talk to his friend at Fox regarding XF2.

 

Here's the deal. He said that he's pretty confident the movie will be made, although it hasn't been "officially greenlit" yet. I questioned my husband about this, and he says that does happen sometimes, even though of course its better to have a movie greenlit as soon as possible, but its not unheard of. Anyway, back to the Fox guy, he said that they have been discussing the film in their production meetings, and everyone is pretty excited about it and "pretty excited about the script" (although he works on the business portion of it, not creative, so he hasn't seen it). He also said that Fox made money with the first film and they think they'll make money on another. He actually got an updated e-mail or memo or something while my husband was talking to him on the phone and XF2 was on the docket.

 

And for all the nay-sayers out there , David is NOT talking out his butt, the Fox guy confirmed that they ARE planning on starting production this December.

The last thing my husband mentioned to me that looks very promising is that movies that Fox are excited about and look like they are going to get the go-ahead get secret code-names, and X-Files 2 DOES INDEED have a secret code-name. Of course, we aren't privy to what that is, but its apparently a very good sign.

 

So that's the deal...not officially greenlit yet, but apparently very close and Fox is shooting for a December production date.

The X-Files 2 Starts Shooting December 10

After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X-Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.

 

Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script.

 

The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One."

The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

They are all script pieces from earlier episodes with Mulder and Scully's names and a few small details replaced. It's been a few years since I watched so I can't pinpoint all the episode names... the two parter where Mulder finds out Samantha was a "walk in:, the one where he gets into it with Scully's OB... one of these is from "Duane Barry"

They are listed under Los Angeles (and all the U.S. cities on the site). So either they are putting up dummy sides to throw people off (it wouldn't surprise me!) or they are using old casting sides to cast the movie for security purposes."
