kostacurtas Δημοσ. 29 Οκτωβρίου 2009 Δημοσ. 29 Οκτωβρίου 2009 Interplay Releases Fallout MMO Concept Art Developer gives us first glimpse of its massive post-apocalyptic title. The legal battle between Interplay and Bethesda over the Fallout license has taken another turn. When we last left off, Interplay was granted a ten day extension to respond to the injunction request made by Bethesda and countersued the publisher over alleging the publisher was illegally selling the original Fallout titles. Bethesda has apparently lost its preliminary injunction over the rights for the Fallout license, according to Fallout fansite No Mutants Allowed, allowing Interplay to continue working on Project V13 (which is believed to be a Fallout MMO). (via Big Download) Because of these legal developments, members of the development team have begun posting concept art for project, which we posted in the gallery below. "Some of the concept art for the game has been released due to the lawsuit," wrote Lead Designer Chris Taylor. "Keep in mind that this is concept art. It's not finalized art, but it will give you a feel for what we are aiming for with V13." "One thing to keep in mind is that with Fallout 1 & 2, we were limited technically by our engine as to what we could display," he wrote. "Looking back almost everyone on the team thought that our palette choices were a little too limited. For V13, we're trying to have a little more differentiation between areas. That means using more colors than just shades of brown," Taylor added.

For now, Interplay can continue development of the Fallout MMO. Currently Bethesda owns the rights to the Fallout franchise, but licensed it over to Interplay to make the Fallout MMO. Bethesda claims that Interplay fell short of its obligations to bring the game into full production and to raise sufficient funds within the agreed time frame. Bethesda is currently trying to gain back the rights to the Fallout MMO.

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 25 Ιανουαρίου 2010 Δημοσ. 25 Ιανουαρίου 2010 Fallout MMO beta to begin 2012 Interplay Entertainment has announced it has signed definitive agreements with Masthead Studios concerning the development of its post-apocalyptic MMO, codenamed Project: V13 - which, depending on the outcome of a legal dispute with Bethesda, could eventually launch as a Fallout MMO. The MMO is scheduled to enter public Beta in 2012. Project: V13 has been under development at Interplay since November 2007 by some of the original Fallout creators. Masthead joined the project in early 2009. Project: V13 will utilise the proprietary tools and MMO technology Masthead developed for its sci-fi MMO, Earthrise. "Masthead's technology is impressive and perfect for our Project: V13. Its team is passionate to bring our vision and game play to the market," said Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen. "This MMOG will have many unique features that we will disclose before launch of the public Beta in 2012."

Τι να πω, περιμένουμε, το earthrise ειδικά πλησιάζει και το χω στο μάτι κάνα χρόνο τώρα.

ScarletK Δημοσ. 26 Ιανουαρίου 2010 Δημοσ. 26 Ιανουαρίου 2010 Ένα faq από την masthead περί earthrise και v13.(παλιό) http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=4102.0 As promised' date=' we've put together a little FAQ for everyone to make sure we all know where things stand with Earthrise and the newly announced V13 project. Of Interest To Earthrise Community 1. Is Earthrise being cancelled? No. 2. Is Earthrise being delayed? The new project’s development is entirely separate from Earthrise. There will be no delays due to V13 development, and only people whose resources are no longer necessary to keep Earthrise on track (due to finishing certain systems or milestones) will be (or have been) moved to the V13 team. 3. Are resources being taken from Earthrise to work on this new project? Earthrise development is not going to suffer in any fashion due to this new contract. Think of it as an addition to the family. Smiley 4. Why a new project? Working on post-apocalyptic MMO titles is our specialty. We also have some great technology that we would like to use in other games. Interplay and their V13 project is a great opportunity to make a highly anticipated and successful post-apocalyptic MMO title. 5. What's going to happen to our forums? We might have to rearrange some things for now, but we were going to do that anyway during beta. Did you register here looking for Project V13 info? 1. Who are you guys? Masthead Studios is currently the developer creating Earthrise. We are also partnering with Interplay in making the "Project V13" MMO. Feel free to look around! 2. Are we getting our own site and forums soon? Interplay has opened forums for the V13 project, those forums are for general discussions on the V13 project among the growing V13 community. No official statements will be given here, although you're welcome to hang out and discuss news. Please note those forums are going to be your first and best source for V13 information and any specific questions you might have about the game itself are best discussed over there. These are two separate projects but we hope you might develop an interest in Earthrise as well - welcome![/quote']
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 10 Ιανουαρίου 2012 Δημοσ. 10 Ιανουαρίου 2012 Bethesda secures Fallout MMO rights Bethesda parent company Zenimax will pay out $2 million to Interplay as part of a settlement returning all Fallout MMO rights to the Fallout 3 publisher. The settlement renders Interplay’s Fallout MMO license null and void, returning the right to develop a Fallout MMO back to Bethesda, and effectively shelving the Interplay and Masthead-developed Fallout Online for good. Interplay cannot develop any further games based on the Fallout brand or IP. “While we strongly believe in the merits of our suits, we are pleased to avoid the distraction and expense of litigation while completely resolving all claims to the Fallout IP. Fallout is an important property of ZeniMax and we are now able to develop future Fallout titles for our fans without third party involvement or the overhang of others’ legal claims,” Zenimax CEO Robert Altman said, rekindling hopes for a Bethesda-developed MMO. The agreement allows Interplay to continue to sell Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics until December 2013, but after that, rights to sell and market the three games returns to Bethesda. Zenimax will pay Interplay $2 million, but both sides will shoulder their own legal costs. The legal dispute between the two companies came about when Bethesda claimed Interplay had failed to meet the terms of its Fallout MMO license agreement – namely, that it would secure at least $30 million in funding and begin development by April 2009.
