Here's a quick tip for the day, Aussie Wii owners can change their region to UK And download some of the respective VC games.

Αλλά για να κάνω και λίγο το δικηγόρο του διαβόλου, αυτό οφείλεται πρώτον στο hype που δημιούργησε η Nintendo και δεύτερον στα πάρα πολλά κομμάτια Wii που διέθεσε στην αγορά μονομιάς.

 

Το ερώτημα είναι αν θα καταφέρει να συνεχίσει και στην πορεία να πουλάει τόσο καλά.

Wii - A Hardcore Gamer's Perspective

 

Oι εντυπώσεις ενός editor του IGN για το Wii, ο οποίος και θεωρεί τον εαυτό του hardcore gamer.

 

Απλώς θα παραθέσω τις τελευταίες παραγράφους για αυτούς που ίσως να βαριούνται να διαβάσουν όλο το κείμενο.

 

"The epiphany struck me when I used the Wii remote to fish for the first time. Weaving the thread of Wii's motion recognition into the larger tapestry of a fully fledged game, it no longer felt like a shallow gimmick ala Wii Sports. Before I knew it I was using the remote to whack creatures with my sword, fire a slingshot and cut the grass down to size.

 

It took an hour or so of forcing myself to play it, but I finally started to get what Zelda is all about. And as a result, I was hit by the potential that Wii's control system offers. That is, a radically different gaming experience than any other gaming platform. Sure, it's an uglier experience, but when the controls are working well, it's easy to overlook these dated visuals.

 

Does this mean I'm going to start using my 360 as a heater for my apartment and dedicate my gaming life to all things Wii? Hell no. I still love my HD graphics, my surround sound, my online gaming. My Gears and Rainbow. But there's now a small part of my gaming heart where a little guy named Link resides, a part where graphics come second to character, innovation and looking like a total tool as I wave my arms around in front of the telly.

 

The three of you who have made it to the end of my rambling rant probably want to know one thing - would I recommend buying a Wii to the fellow graphics whores out there? To be honest - probably not… yet. Zelda is but one game. Yes, it's a masterpiece of a game, but I don't think it's enough to warrant the purchase of a Wii for gamers with tastes like mine. From the little I've seen, the rest of the existing Wii lineup just doesn't come close to Zelda - please refer to our Wii review index if you think I'm the only one with this opinion. Thankfully, what Zelda has shown me is that the Wii does have the capacity to offer a very different gaming experience to what we're used to, one that is just as compelling, if not more so. It's up to developers to make sure their games achieve this."

Sony Claims Wii Is "More of a Novelty" Despite Wii Sales Doubling PS3 Sales

 

Sony spokesman Dave Karraker has commented that Playstation fans who pick up a Nintendo Wii are doing so as it's more of a novelty. This comes fresh off the back of reports indicating the Wii is outselling the PS3 by a ratio of 2:1.

Accordingly, U.S. retailers estimate that nearly 1.5 million Wiis will be sold before Christmas, about twice as many as the PS3.
