Σήμερα στην έκθεση εκεί που βοηθούσα κάποιους επισκέπτες, ακούγεται ένα μπαμ απίστευτο, λέω ωχ θα έπεσε καμιά τηλεόραση. Όπως και στις φωτογραφίες της προηγούμενης σελίδας, ένα κορδονάκι από ένα wiimote έσπασε -στο λεπτό σημείο- (apparently ο τύπος που έπαιζε tennis ήθελε να καρφώσει) και το wiimote έσκασε με πολλή δύναμη στο τοίχο. Βγήκε το καπάκι και οι μπαταρίες, αλλά το wiimote μετά δούλευε μια χαρά.

The hopefully non-prophetically named Singe did a little bit of research on Wii power consumption since the thing is on 24/7. Turns out that Nintendo's nifty new console isn't just light on power use, it's super light.

 

Wii:

 

- In Standby Mode: 10w

- Idle @ Wii menu: 17w

- Running a Wii Game (Test with Zelda / Trauma Center) in 480i: 17w

 

37" Sharp Aquos LCD TV:

- In Standby Mode: 40w

- Turned on: 180w

 

XBox 360:

- In Standby Mode: 2w

- Idle @ Dashboard: ~140w

- Running a Game: ~160w

- Playing a DVD: ~110w

 

 

 

 

Nintendo estimated to have sold more than 600,000 Wii consoles at launch

Chicago (IL) - Nintendo had no problem getting rid of its first batch of its Wii gaming console. According to media reports, U.S. buyers snapped up about 600,000 devices within a few minutes after launch. Nintendo promised to follow up with 400,000 more consoles until the end of the year.

 

The least expensive of the three third generation gaming machines had a smashing start: At least if we believe NexGen wars, a website that tracks game console sales, Nintendo had sold more than 667,000 Wii consoles by Monday noon, more than double of what Sony was able to sell of its Playstation 3, which was estimated to have sold about 259,000 units initially and will remain in very limited supply until the second quarter of next year.

 

Microsoft, which has a one-year lead over its two competitors, has sold about 7.1 million Xbox 360 units so far.

 

While Nintendo had a much more generous launch allocation for the Wii available than Sony of its PS3, the bright white device still sold out within minutes. More than 1000 people were waiting in line at the main launch store, the Times Square location of Toys R Us. The average electronics store reportedly had between 60 and 100 Wiis available, while the PS3 was limited to less than 40 at large Best Buy locations and five to ten units at other retailers.

 

Ebay sales for the Wii have been brisk after launch, but are lacking the pricing dynamics of the PS3, which reached prices of more than $10,000 in the hours after launch. By Monday noon, there were 30,000 Wii consoles and accessories for sale through the online auction site. Including one or two games, Wiis were changing hands for about $300 and $400. Playstation 3 sales have cooled down considerably, with 60 GB models currently selling in the $1100 price range and 20 GB versions ending up at about $700.

 

Wii launched with game 20 titles. Nintendo said that the portfolio will increase by 13 by the end of the year.

 

 

 

 

 

Wii launches funky accessories from third party manufacturers for US launch

Nintendo wants you to hold the motion sensing controller, lovingly dubbed the ʽWii-moteʼ, in your hands to control your bat, racquet, club, steering wheel or more. But along with the launch of the Wii in the US has come a range of Wii-mote add-ons that are so cool and affordable, youʼll want them for the novelty value if nothing else.

 

Thereʼs a Sports Pack, a Racing Wheel, a Controller Grip and Silicon covers for the Wii-mote to simulate real sports action, protect your Wii-mote and hold it more comfortably, all while retaining access to the rear trigger button.

 

No doubt starting to become available in stores all over the world, essentially wherever youʼre reading this, itʼs clearly the start of a new wave of accessories for Nintendoʼs new Wii games console.

 

The Sports Pack costs AUD $39.95 (probably under US $25), and comes with plastic holders to transform your Wii-mote into a tennis racquet, glof club and baseball bat. Obvious these devices are not to scale, but nevertheless enhance the feeling of actually playing the game.

 

The Racing Wheel is AUD $19.95 (probably around US $10) and offers a comfortable steering wheel plastic moulding that maintains the Wiiʼs motion sensing but lets you feel like youʼre really hold a wheel with which to drive.

 

The Controller Grip at AUD $16.95 (less than US $10) gives you the ʽhandlesʼ that your palms grip on when holding a standard Xbox 360, PS3 or Nintendo GameCube controller.

 

The Silicon Gloves are AUD $14.95 (way less than US $10) and are similar to the silicon skins available for iPods.

These products were on display at the eGames Expo in Melbourne, Australia this past weekend, where the Nintendo Wii displayed was jam-packed with consumers all eager to play and fascinated by how simple and fun the system is.

 

A nearby stand from Futuretronics had the Wii accessories on display and on sale. Their website does not yet show the accessories but they will on the site soon. Local games stores in the US that sell the Wii will either already have these accessories or they will be coming soon.

Weʼre looking forward to seeing what else Nintendo and other third party manufacturers can come up for the very cool Nintendo Wii.

επισης να σου πω μερικα πραγματα που ΔΕΝ τα λενε τα reviews..

(αν και με "χαλασμενο" κοντρολ, δεν βλεπω πραγματικα ουτε ενα μικρο λογο να ασχοληθεις μαζι του (εκτος αν δεν εχεις αλλη κονσολα))

σε μερικες πιστες τα γραφικα ειναι σχετικα (για wii) καλα.

σε καποιες αλλες ομως ειναι απλως ΑΘΛΙΑ, και υπαρχουν πολλες στιγμες που το framerate πεφτει τοσο που μπορεις να μετρας τα frames καθως εναλλασονται στην τηλεοραση σου.

Γιατί πολυ απλα το GC δεν προσφέρει το χειρισμό του Wii, το GC δεν έχει τις δυνατότητες του Wii.

Εχουν ανακοινωθεί και είναι ετοιμοι για κυκλοφορία τόσοι τίτλοι τον Ιανουαριο και κατα τα άλλα υπαρχεί το Zelda ως μόνος λόγος αγοράς.

Προσωπικά θα ξεκινήσω με το Rayman και ίσως αργότερα το Zelda. Αν και δεν ξέρω και για το Rampage Total Destruction. Εχω να παίξω Rampage απο το Master System. Βεβαία αρκετά διασκεδαστικό δείχνει και το Monkey Ball και το Dragon Ball Z που ευτυχώς για εμάς θα το έχουμε μέχρι της 20 Δεκεμβρίου!

 

Τα ίδια λέγανε και για το DS αν θα άξιζε σε σχέση με το PSP αλλά ο χρονος έδειξε ότι πούλησε και πουλάει πολύ περισσοτερο.

 

Και όπως και να έχει συμπεράσμα του τύπου αν αξίζει το Wii ή όχι θα βγουν μόνο αν είναι και οι τρεις κονσόλες στην αγορά πανω από ενα εξάμηνο και θα υπαρχουν τίτλοι για όλες.

 

Κάτι τελευταίο η Nintendo έχει δείξει με τη στάση της στο Gameboy ότι αν αξίζει κάτι το υποστηρίζει μέχρι τελικής πτώσης. Ε προφανώς το GC δεν αξίζε για να συνεχιστεί η παραγωγή παιχνιδιών.

Πρέπει να περάσει λίγο ο καιρός, να δουμε και τα παιχνίδια που θα βγουν ολο αυτο το διάστημα και να βγάλουμε συμπεράσματα.

Έλεγα τα επόμενα 2 χρόνια να πάρω και τις 3 κονσόλες, αλλά όσο βλέπω τον φανατισμό για το 360 μου φεύγει η διάθεση να το πάρω.

 

Όπως ανέφερα και σε άλλο post, τι να κάνω μια κονσόλα όταν το 90% των χρηστών της νομίζει ότι καλό παιχνίδι σημαίνει massive killer σενάριο. (άντε και κανα ποδοσφαιράκι).

Πάντως και εγω πέρασα απο την έκθεση και πραγματικα δεν εντυπωσιάστικα. Πέρα λίγο απο το τέννις και Zelda το μηχάνημα δεν μου έκανε την παραμικρή εντύπωση. Όσο για γραφικά, υπήρχαν games που ήτανε απλά χάλια. Κυριολεκτικά το psp σε μερικά games έχει καλύτερα γραφικά π.χ Τekken ή Syphon Filter.

Μακάρι να πάει καλά το μηχάνημα γιατί όλοι τρέφουμε μία αγάπη στην nintendo αλλά προσωπικά δεν θα το αγοράσω.

ποροσεξτε οτι συμφωνα με το famitsu, το red steel ειναι χειροτερο ΜΟΝΟ απο το zelda.(!!)

αυτο ισως κατι λεει για τα υπολοιπα.

 

και παμε στο zelda.

οι κριτικες ειναι ακριβως ιδιες και στο gamecube.

το περιεργο ειναι οτι προτεινουν την εκδοση του gamecube, γιατι πολυ απλα με το wiimote δεν εχεις χρηση της καμερας και ειναι και τα κοντρολς πιο περιεργα.

βεβαια ειναι εντελως λογικο για ενα τετοιο game να προτεινεται η εκδοση στην οποια ο χρηστης εχει ελεγχο της καμερας, αλλα ειναι παραλογο για το famitsu.
