Το Monster Hunter 3 φαίνεται να βγει ένα από τα καλύτερα παιχνίδια του Wii, όπως και το Resident Evil 4 στο GameCube.

Όσο για αυτό, ξέρετε αν θα δουλεύει σωστά;

Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι ότι η συσκευή αυτή είναι πανάκριβη (113?).

Everyone is talking about a new model of the Nintendo DS that includes a camera, but what you don't know is that Nintendo has a new game to show. We can announce today that Nintendo will reveal a new game for the Wii during this event which is actually an old franchise that everyone is waiting for. Nintendo press conference will be held in Japan on October 2nd.

Nintendo likely to go large at press conference tomorrow, say analysts

The internetʼs going bonkers: what will Nintendo show tomorrow? Thereʼs a good round-up of all the various rumours on Bloomberg, with a few quotes from analysts thrown in to make it sound “grown up.”

Basically, the smart money says itʼs going to be a new DS, and a lot of talk has emerged today regarding a new set of Wii peripherals, as youʼll see in that Bloomberg piece.

As reported this morning, the amazingly risky rumour doing the round regarding software is that weʼre going to see an update to an existing license. If you have a press, you should probably stop it.

Set your watches, Wii lovers: Nintendo UK just confirmed the timing for tomorrowʼs press conference, and youʼre going to have to get up early if youʼre in Europe.

“Nintendo will hold ONE conference tomorrow - it will take place between 1.30 - 3pm Japan time (6.30 - 8am CET),” weʼve just been told by a rep.

Thereʼs been some confusion about whatʼs actually going on, as US journalists are attending an event in California tomorrow, but it looks as though all the actionʼs coming from Japan.

Rumor: Next-Gen Wii HD Due by 2011

Nintendo is beginning to present its next generation hardware, dubbed Wii HD, to game developers and publishers, according to a report from What They Play.

Said to be "far more than a simple refresh of the current hardware," sources tell the site that the Wii HD is being billed as the true successor to the Wii and should launch by 2011. That fits with the predictions of key industry figures, who expect the next generation of consoles, including the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720, to arrive by 2012.

Along with support for high definition resolutions, the new system is expected to sport backwards compatibility and a focus on digitally distributed content. Sources also indicate that Nintendo is once again placing special emphasis on the controller.

While these may seem like the ramblings of a no-name site attempting to gain traffic, especially as Nintendo is tomorrow throwing a a press event while word of a revised DS circulates, What They Play was co-founded by former EGM editor-in-chief John Davison. A long-time industry veteran, Davison also penned the report.

Davison further notes that something major is in the works at Nintendo, as the company has more than tripled its research and development costs since the Wii launched in 2006, with the company spending $370 million on R&D in 2007.

Call of Duty: World at War Hands-on

It's one of the prettiest first-person shooters on Wii, but how does it control?

During the launch of Wii back in November of 2006, Nintendo fans had just a couple of options in what they got with the first-person shooter offerings on the system. The waters were untested, and after a pretty unimpressive offering with Red Steel it was apparent that it'd take some serious effort to make FPS controls work on Wii. If a developer could though, Nintendo's system could be the perfect platform for it, as pixel-perfect IR control was inherently strong. Outside of Red Steel though, another game was making an impact on the system, as Treyarch's Call of Duty 3 blended some hit/miss motion events with an overall tighter, faster experience than the competition. Call of Duty 3 wasn't the best experience we could imagine on Wii, but it was certainly a step in the right direction.

Fast forward two years and we're now seeing the Treyarch team back on Wii, this time delivering Call of Duty: World at War in addition to the 360 and PS3 SKUs. We had a chance to go hands-on with the game at a recent Activision event, and are back to report on one of Wii's biggest third party games of this fall...

Let's Tap announced for Wii

Sonic creator Yuji Naka revealed his new game today at the Nintendo press conference in Japan. Titled Letʼs Tap, itʼs apparently the first game the developerʼs made where you donʼt have to hold a controller.

If you recall, Naka said the title could be played by a penguin. Now you know why. It appears to be some kind of rhythm action thing where you put the Wiimote on the ground.

More on the gameʼs site. Thereʼs some radical music going on over there.

Wii Speak Channel and mic out in Europe on December 5

wiispeak1.jpg

Wii Speak enables people to connect to and communicate with friends using the free-to-use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection* in a way that is very socially inclusive. Wii Speak can be connected directly to the console and pick up the conversations from an entire room of people, meaning friends and families can all get involved in conversations, sharing gaming and social experiences together. Itʼs just like using a phone to make a call and chat with other Wii-friends: but with Wii Speak, everyone in the room can get involved in the conversation.

The new Wii Speak Channel, accessed from the Wiiʼs main menu, allows up to four console users – who can be anywhere in the world – to connect together to chat, or to share pictures and text messages at no extra cost. Once connected, the Wii Speak Channel brings userʼs Miis to life: as usersʼ Miis represent them on-screen during their conversations. When players are talking to each other, their Miis also ʽtalkʼ to match the sound that is being picked up by the Wii Speak accessory.

Users have to share their private Friend Codes to be able to communicate with each other, which makes the experience safe and fun.

As well as enabling people to connect together through the Wii Speak Channel, Wii Speak also opens up a new world of social gameplay. The first game to use the full capabilities of Wii Speak is Animal Crossing: Letʼs Go to the City, in which players can create and share their personalised worlds.

For the first time, friends can chat in the game and, as the action happens in real time and creates a world in which players celebrate real festivals and events, sharing the gaming experience over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on Christmas Day will be a uniquely magical experience, with characters and other players in the game all joining in the festive fun! Animal Crossing: Letʼs Go to the City and the Wii Speak microphone will be offered as a bundle at launch, making a perfect gift for friends and family this Christmas.

In the future, Wii Speak will be incorporated into other Wii games, meaning that new opportunities can be created for social gameplay amongst the consoleʼs fans.
