Following the wacky exploits of dog detective Sam and the bunny-thing Max, both of whom are freelance police officers, Telltale's series is based on the work of Steve Purcell, which also inspired LucasArts' adventure Sam & Max Hit the Road (PC) and an animated series in the early 90's. Consisting of six installments, the episodes of Sam & Max Season One were incrementally released on the PC across late 2006 and early 2007, with the full season hitting store shelves after its conclusion. The final episode of Season Two hit PCs last month.

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 25 Μαΐου 2008 Δημοσ. 25 Μαΐου 2008 New York Times Article - Shigeru Miyamoto Expands His Empire Ενα εκπληκτικο αρθρο απο την New York Times για τον Shigeru Miyamoto. Μερικα αποσπασματα απο το αρθρο: As the creator of the Donkey Kong, Mario and Zelda series (which have collectively sold more than 350 million copies) and the person who ultimately oversees every Nintendo game, Mr. Miyamoto may be personally responsible for the consumption of more billions of hours of human time than anyone around. In the Time 100 online poll conducted this spring, Mr. Miyamoto was voted the most influential person in the world. “Without Miyamoto, Nintendo would be back making playing cards,” said Andy McNamara, editor in chief of Game Informer, the No. 1 game magazine, referring to Nintendoʼs original business in 1889. “He probably inspires 99 percent of the developers out there today. You can even say there wouldnʼt be video games today if it wasnʼt for Miyamoto and Nintendo. Heʼs the granddad of all game developers, but the funny thing is that for all of his legacy, for all of the mainstay iconic characters heʼs designed and created, he is still pushing the limits with things like Wii Fit.” “There are very few people in the video game industry who have managed to succeed time after time at a world-class level, and Miyamoto-san is one of them,” Graham Hopper, a Disney veteran and executive vice president and general manager of Disney Interactive Studios, said in a telephone interview. “The level of creative success that he has achieved over a sustained period is probably unparalleled.” With a track record like his, it would be foolish to bet against him. When it comes to the Walt Disney of the digital generation, no one knows fun better.

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 26 Μαΐου 2008 Δημοσ. 26 Μαΐου 2008 New Wii SKU? Nintendo's hugely popular Wii console has entered the internal status of 'early warning' of a major American retail outlet, meaning the current stock-keeping unit will start being phased out within 90 days and will be replaced, shortly there after, by a newer SKU. A trusted source with access to internal documents has given Neowin this exclusive story. It remains to be seen whether this development is due to new bundles being released or perhaps coloured versions of the Wii, but the current SKU will definitely begin to be removed from sales channels within 90 days. We will report more on this story as new facts come to light. Lost Winds 2 - Concept Art Top Spin 3 - Screenshots

Telltale Games, the developer of the wacky Sam & Max point-and-click adventure games, has announced it will continue its popular episodic series when Season 3 rolls out in early 2009. Although no specific dates were unraveled, Telltale Games did tell (pun intended) thebbps.com that the 3rd season will arrive after the 1st season of Sam & Max hits Nintendo's Wii this fall. While the PC version of Sam & Max released both episodically and as a total retail package, the complete 1st season of the Wii version will only be available through retail. Emily Morganti, Telltale's marketing and public relations representative, said that even though the episodes are relatively small downloads for PC users, as of now Nintendo's WiiWare doesn't allow for enough data storage, although this doesn't mean the developer has ruled out future Sam & Max WiiWare releases. kostacurtas Δημοσ. 28 Μαΐου 2008 Δημοσ. 28 Μαΐου 2008 IGNʼs Nintendo Voice Chat - Podcast Summary Reader questions: - In the future, third parties putting their top teams on Wii depends on sales, money. Will see more party games because they sell well. - More internal support from Nintendo will be coming - Nintendo registered ASH (ESRB) - Matt & Bozon no nothing about Nintendo news at E3. 99% sure weʼll see Wii Music, Animal Crossing in some form, Kid Icarus, ASH, Super Mario Sluggers, maybe Disaster and Pikmin. Need to show off balance board title. - Even with Guitar Hero downloadable content, Matt doesnʼt think weʼll see a hard drive solution - Timesplitters 4, if itʼs a next-gen game, Wii will get a seperate game - Matt thinks Sky Crawlers will come to US - Beyond Good and Evil 2 - rumors itʼs coming to Wii, nothing to confirm - Wonʼt get Prince of Persia caliber from Ubisoft, but will get some intriguing games. Red Steel 2 still in development. - No More Heroes sold “OK.” Not exceptional, but better than Japan. Donʼt expect a sequel anytime soon. - Madden 09 will probably have better graphics than on original Xbox. Models look great, fresh animation. Havenʼt seen it face-to-face yet. - Wii software situation is iffy: Do software sales include Wii Play? Also, Nintendo has a majority of the software sales. - Ability to send free demos to friends is a good idea (Dr. Mario). Closest thing to a demo. - Achievements should appear in more Wii games. Big deal for Bozon. - Matt thinks weʼll see Wii Music this year - The Conduit is a great offering for Wii owners - good controls (in theory), not a wartime shooter - MadWorld wasnʼt the game that was discussed in a previous podcast that was set for 2009 - Matt canʼt talk about Capcom rumors - World Ends With You team may create something for the Wii - Square Enix in general will be supporting the system - Matt hasnʼt seen footage of the Factor 5 game - Confirmation of The Conduit multiplayer - Deathmatch teaser was referring to online component, multiplayer deathmatch. Devs. of The Conduit have been contacted by many publishers, but are taking their time so they can make the game they want to make. “Yes, we are planning on online multiplayer. We donʼt yet know how many simultaneous players weʼll be able to support. The other thing folks seem to have a lot questions on the forumsfront is the lack of a publisher. For what itʼs worth, we have no shortages of options now both large and small but we are taking our time. We have our own funding to entirely complete the game and itʼs not that we donʼt play well with others, we just want to be far enough along that someone doesnʼt come along and monkey the whole thing up. Weʼve worked on enough licensed titles that had the potential to be good but an arm-chaired quarterback came in and mandated a very bad direction. The further along we are, the less likely that is to happen. We really want The Conduit to be something special for the Wii and for us, you know?” - Gyrostar release date: “Gyrostar is sitting in Nintendoʼs hands and if I had to guess, Iʼd say June 16th. But if folks pester Nintendo, maybe theyʼll be motivated to push it out sooner?” - Quantum 3 engine could be licensed to other developers. - Mario Kart Wii has given hope for future online titles. - Pre-E3 new game announcements happening now. Wonʼt hear about Nintendo until E3. - Guitar Hero On Tour: Hands on demo coming soon - Nintendogs 2 will probably happen, possibly on Wii - Matt wants to play more Boom Blox, complete No More Heroes, GTAIV, Bioshock, Uncharted. Bozon wants to play more SSX Blur, Godfather, Scarface, Ace Combat. - Bozon will continue his WiiGetFit blog/experiment - Momʼs whining about Wii Fit calling them fat: Will linger a bit - Monkey King - Bozon will review it in the near future - Megaman 9 or Megaman Battle Network? Megaman 9 - Would like to see something based on Shadow of Colossus on Wii Wii hard drive rant: - Matt & Bozon complain a lot about storage problem - Even if Nintendo doesnʼt want to support SD cards, there are two USB ports for a hard drive - Matt doesnʼt know if thereʼs a solution coming - Devs been saying that thereʼs no signs of hard drive in the future, has Matt disturbed - Even nongamers are getting sick of storage situation - In 6-7 months, even if someone doesnʼt buy too many games, theyʼll fill up their space Wii Fit: - Best Buy: Wii Fit stands completely sold out - GameStop: Same story - Been on BBC news, MTV, Good Morning show, Ellen - Matt believes that long term, Wii Fit will be huge - not sure if it can sell as much as GTAIV - Amazon, retailers in general sold out - Matt has Wii calisis on his palms Dr. Mario Online Rx: - Online mode is fun, but only two player - Virus buster is great - use Wii pointer to grab pills, set up combo for other friend - not online - Must-get WiiWare title Emergency Heroes: - Straightforward racing game, semi-open world - Decent physics system, good speed and controls - Framerate jumps sometimes - Voice-overs are awful - Overall seems decent Wario Land Shake New Wii Game 1 player 20 stages Hand-drawn backgrounds Hand-drawn animation Toon-shaded characters Locations such as jungle ruins, desert, and ocean Shake the Wiimote for special actions (shake enemies to grab coins, unearth hidden locations, and more) Some sort of throwing mechanic via Wiimote manipulation Vehicles such as rockets and submarines, seems that the Wiimote speaker plays a part in vehicles as well July 24 (Japan) More EA Sports Details FIFA 09: - All-Play assists new players (like the other EA titles) - Classic, GameCube, Wii controller (with pointer/regular method), Wiimote + Nunchuck controller options - Footii Party: Minigames + New Footii Match - Support over 500 teams, 14,000 players with appropriate attribute + stats - Online: Interactive Leagues, see the control set up of opponents before matches Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09: - A lot of effort being put into realistic swing - Club Tuner feature: adjust any club in your bag - Simultaneous online play - All-Play isnʼt as big as in the other EA games: Preview your arc to see where the ball will end up - More courses, players - 3/5 new courses based outside of North America (South Africa, Shanghai, England) - International players available - Set for August release Madden NFL 09: - Controls tweaked, less gestures - Call Your Shots feature - draw path for player to follow - Vibrant, arcade graphics - With All-Play turned on: “Controls are simpler, the playbook is slimmed down, and potential annoyances such as the playclock are turned off.” Also, when running the ball, there is a better chance of avoiding the first tackle - 5-on-5: “Backyard styled graphics and gameplay” - big heads, backyard rules - Updateable rosters probable, live scores from NFL games, leaderboards, more online functions - John Madden + Al Michaels doing the commentary - Miis will show up: “Refer-Mii” NCAA Football: - Simple gestures in All-Play - Change All-Play settings on the fly - Over 200 teams - Three levels of play-calling for All Play - Ask Coach, pared-down playbook, complete playbook - Ask Coach: Gives you a play, advice - Crowd Hype minigame: The better you do, the bigger your audience - More people in the audience helps increase stats - Gameplay faster than in previous versions Fatal Frame 4 - Scans Sam and Max Season 1 - Nintendo Channel Footage Ghostbusters Wii Preview The games story takes place in 1991, two years after the epic battle with Gozer the Carpathian. According to Gamespot, these will include. "The streets of New York during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, a library basement, a graveyard, and a Lost Island." In addition to the main game there will also be:- Multiplayer modes with two-versus-two battle modes.- Four player co-op and competitive modes.- Mini games. Graphically Wii's game will have a more cartoon-based style. Some good news is that we won't be playing a PS2 port. Wii is the lead platform for development, and then the game is being scaled down for the PS2. In addition to all this there is also news that Wii version of the game will be able to connect wirelessly to your DS so that you can use the DS as a PKE Meter. MLB, NHL series may be heading to the Wii Some good news for baseball and hockey fans on the Wii. Thereʼs a good chance that both 2K series may be heading to the Wii. This is all thanks to a developer change that has been confirmed. 1up did some snooping, and found out that development of both games has been transferred over to Visual Concepts, which leaves things open for both Wii and 360 iterations.

Publishing giant LucasArts has versions of LEGO Star Wars and The Force Unleashed, among others, available or coming to a Nintendo system near you, but the company has yet to develop a fully exclusive project designed specifically for Wii. That may be about to change, however, if an advertisement showing up on the back sleeve of the instruction booklet for LEGO Indiana Jones is any indication. Evidently, the company is underway with a Wii and DS-only title based on the upcoming movie and animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Take a look for yourself -- we've snapped a quick photo of the advertisement in question. The ad leads those interested to clonewarsgame.com, which currently redirects to starwars.com. Apparently LucasArts isn't quite ready to divulge more on the game, but you can learn much more about The Clone Wars movie and series by clicking right here. The Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and animated series transpire between Star War Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The movie and series is set to star such recognizable characters as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they do battle across the galaxy. The feature film and series sport a stylized look less realistic than previous Star Wars movies. Wario Land Detailed Side scrolling platforming on the Wii. Following Nintendo's surprise announcement of Wario Land Shake for the Wii yesterday, new details have come our way on the game. Wario's latest adventure looks like it's being designed with both casual and hardcore gamers in mind. A side-scrolling platformer, the game makes use of 2D artwork to depict its characters and stages. The game promises a total of 20 stages, taking you through all the expected environments, including jungles, deserts, and caves. Controls have been kept simple, with the Wiimote held horizontally and most of the action controlled with the D-pad and the 1 and 2 buttons. Nintendo is including some waggle controls as well. Shake the Wiimote up and down, and you can make Wario perform a few extra moves, like shaking coins free from an enemy you've grabbed onto. The Wiimote can also be tilted to control vehicles. As revealed yesterday, Wario Land Shake will hit the Japanese Wii on July 24. A release outside of Japan has yet to be announced. SimCity Creator Details The series returns, this time on DS and Wii.
