heyou Δημοσ. 9 Νοεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 9 Νοεμβρίου 2006 Reggie says no secrets left for Wii, GamePro says there are, Falafelkid agrees Let us briefly examine the News.com interview. At first, Reggie seemed intent on evading the issue, mentioning how only the box contents had been finalized. This would have left the back door open for any secrets regarding the Virtual Console or WiiConnect24, for example. Only when pressed about a last-minute announcement did he actually rule one out. This is in keeping with GamePro´s response. They are confident that their source is accurate. I therefore strongly believe that Reggie decided to deceive us, rather than reiterate his earlier comments at the conference (which he must have meant to be confidential). After all, a secret is only a secret for as long as it is not talked about in public.

Spike TV's fourth annual Video Game Awards is getting some much-needed energy. Sam "Snakes on a Plane" Jackson is set to return as host of the awards show which airs December 13 at 10 PM. The awards, taped on December 8 and then edited for length and boring speeches, is being held at the University of Southern California's Galen Center in Los Angeles. Voting for the show begins today at http://www.vga2006.spiketv.com. Fans can vote in 27 different categories, including Most Addictive Game, Game of the Year and Cyber Vixen of the Year (ohhh Princess Peach!). Voting closes on Thursday, December 7. Absent from this year's list of awards is the choice for Best Videogame Website. It's too bad, because we had a killer speech prepared. "IGN would like to thank the Academy for this distinguished honor. And, of course, we would like to thank all the fans who voted. Without you we wouldn't be here." Then the IGN editors would collectively poop on the crowd. We'll have to settle for Sam Jackson making stellar cracks at the expense of the gathered celebrities. panther_512 Δημοσ. 10 Νοεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 10 Νοεμβρίου 2006 IGN Wii Playground Matt and Mark show you Red Steel Ένα πολύ ενδιαφέρον βίντεο, με τον Matt και Mark από το IGN να μας παρουσιάζουν το Red Steel αλλά και να μοιράζονται τις σκέψεις τους για το παιχνίδι.
10 Νοεμβρίου 2006 Wii Play - Info and Screens Wii Play Wii Play (はじめてのWii Hajimete no Wii, or My First Wii in Japan) is an upcoming video game for the Wii. It will feature minigames that will use characters in the Mii Channel. Several of the games featured are from E3 2006 demos such as the Duck Hunt-styled shooting demo and Table Tennis, as well as all new mini-games. The game will be sold with a Wii Remote (though no nunchuck attachment) in Japan, Australia and Europe. Table Tennis The game is one and two players and is basically a game of Pong, rallying back and forth by moving the Wii remote. The Mii characters are supported, and are represented by the audience. As the game progresses, the audience grows larger. Laser Hockey Played like air hockey, this is a two player game where the players move the Wii remote up and down to deflect shots and try to score in the opponents goal. Twisting the paddle aims the ball. According to developers, the physics engine used to calculate the velocity and position of the shots is extremely advanced, with Shigeru Miyamoto even stating that it rivaled the Havok physics engine in its realism. Fishing Players use the Wii remote in a fishing fashion to hook specific paper fish and then yank upwards to grab them. Find Mii Crowds of Mii characters will gather on the screen and the player is given certain details to look for among them. The player then must pick out the proper Mii that matches the objective. Pose Mii Players move their Miis about with the Wii remote and place themselves in the exact location and position of floating transparent Miis to score points. Shooting Players go through various rounds of shooting with targets, ducks, etc. One to four players can participate in this game. Pool Played like traditional pool games found online. Players line up their shot in both an overhead 2D and behind-the-ball style 3D viewpoints. They pull the cue stick (Wii remote) backwards, then hit it forward to launch the ball. Charge! The player takes a bull by the horns, steers the wild steer by holding the Wii Remote sideways, as if gripping reins, and topple scarecrows to score points. Tanks The player controls a tank with the Wii Remote; aims the cannon, bounces shells off walls, and blast opponents. Wii wins PopSci's award for best new home entertainment product PopSci.com, the website of Popular Science magazine, has published a list of the Best of What's New in 2006, spanning a range of categories, and the Wii has won the honor of the best new product for the home entertainment category! Here's a sample of what what they had to say about Nintendo's newest console: "The company decided that gamers didnʼt need to pay extra for photo-realistic renderings of its iconic talking mushrooms. Instead it reimagined the controller, introducing a three-axis accelerometer that transforms your hand motions into in-game action, so you really play the games." The Wii is showing up on more and more "most wanted" and "best product" lists, often in the #1 spot. It is really bringing Nintendo back into the forefront of the industry, much to the chagrin of Sony, I imagine, who stands to lose the most during this latest generation of consoles. To recycle an overused (but still funny) phrase, Sony has messed up and Nintendo and Microsoft are going to "attack the weak point for massive damage."
