kostacurtas Δημοσ. 10 Απριλίου 2008 Δημοσ. 10 Απριλίου 2008 Disaster: Day of Crisis Release Date: July 3 (Japan) Super Mario Stadium Baseball Release Date: June 19 (Japan) F-Zero Wii to be unveiled at E3? Currently rumoured to be called F-Zero Z A new F-Zero game for Wii will be unveiled by Nintendo at E3, currently named as F-Zero Z. According to German website Nintendo-Planet.de, the new title will feature all the tracks of F-Zero GX and include an online mode. More cryptically, the site also states that "a weapon system has also been confirmed". We imagine that has more to do with the Babel Fish translation missing something subtle in the language, though. We're waiting back from Nintendo to deny its very existence, but the rumours would coincide with Reggie's hint that we should expect something big at this year's E3. Elebits 2 coming to Wii Not the DS, as originally rumoured Konami's Elebit hunting Wii game will be getting a sequel on the console, according to Official Nintendo Magazine. Earlier on in the year, the new title was reported to be on its way to the Nintendo DS. We've dropped Konami a line to clarify the matter and are waiting for its American offices to literally wake up and reply. The original title was an early release for Konami on Nintendo's console, tasking the player with finding hidden Elebits/Eledees within domestic settings, like a treasure hunt. With electricity. NGamer gave it 82% in its review, saying: "Inspired, intuitive and a real giggle. The Connect24-enabled Level Editor is the icing on a particularly delicious electric cake." Nintendo tops Develop 100 The Mario Factory knocks EA off the top slot for most successful development studio in terms of UK sales. It's the time of year when Develop magazine reveals which game studios the British public have voted for with their wallets. The Develop 100, an annual list, has been topped by Nintendo, which generated £129.83 million in sales in 2007. The Develop 100 showcases the top worldwide studios by the value of their retail games sales in the UK. EA Canada, the winner last year, came in at number two, with £68.78 million, and Ubisoft Montreal came third with £52.17 million. A grand total of 36 of the top 100 studios are based in the UK, including Traveller's Tales, best known for the Lego Star Wars series, at number 10 with £27.06 million. Others that made the grade included Rebellion--developers of Free Running--at number 16 with £20.13 million, Sony's London Studios (of PS3 SingStar fame) at number 21 with £16.1 million, and Rockstar Leeds (developers of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories) at 26 with £13.75 million. Japan has a total of 19 developers in the chart, alongside 33 from the US, and 12 from Canada. France has two studios, and Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Romania, and Sweden all have one in the top 100. The Australians also secured a place in the rankings this year, with Tantalus Interactive--the creators of Pony Friends--at number 96 with £2.79 million. Sonic Unleashed Wii News From the latest edition of Official Nintendo Magazine (UK&IRL): - Screenshots of the Wii version basically identical to what we have seen on the net of the game so far. - Wii version described as "Shiny next-gen visuals". - The werewolf Sonic sections are "slightly slower, yet a more agile beast" than the ordinary Sonic sections. - A one page interview with the games Lead Designer, Yoshihisa Hashimoto. Describes the game as no relation to Secret Rings or original 360/PS3 Sonic title- "more in common to Sonic Adventure titles". - Yoshihisa says that as well as the Wii Remote "players will also be using the Nunchuck"

"For a first look at the Wii version, Star Wars: Force Unleashed is showing some serious potential. We're anxious to see more of the game in action, and find out just how accurate and entertaining the duel mode will be with all characters and options unlocked, but thus far it seems to be a great offering on Wii, especially considering that Nintendo's console is short on pure action brawlers. The force powers are fun to use (even if they area a bit simple for our liking), the combat is fast and reliable with the Wii-mote, and the Wii version is pretty pleasing to the eye, pulling off some better visual effects than the PS2 version, and running in 16:9 and 480p. It may not be the 1:1 "virtual lightsaber" that Star Wars fans have been dreaming about for decades on end, but it's a fun beat-em-up, the control works and is very dependable, and the first mature Star Wars experience on Wii. This one is definitely worth keeping an eye on." "Duel Mode (exclusive for Wii) combines all the actions and controls of the main game with a free-form arena battle mode similar to Power Stone. Players can select from over 20 characters from Star Wars lore (including Vader, Anakin Skywalker, two versions of Luke, Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventess, Rahm Kota, Mace Windu, and many others) and face off head-to-head with another player. As you battle through the environments you'll find power-ups such as infinite force, invincibility, and even the ability to call in reinforcements in the form of battle droids to stomp out your opponent." Boom Blox toppling May 6 EALA and Steven Spielberg action puzzle collaboration landing on Nintendo's Wii later this spring with nearly 400 single-player, 200 multiplayer levels. Boom Blox an action puzzle game for the Wii developed by EALA and creatively inspired by Hollywood auteur Steven Spielberg. While EA had previously given Boom Blox a broad May release window, the publisher said today during its demonstration of the game that Boom Blox will stack up on Nintendo's console beginning May 6. As noted in GameSpot's previous coverage, Boom Blox plays on the joy of building up an impressive structure and then wantonly smashing it to pieces. EA has created nearly 400 block-filled levels for the game's single-player mode, and an additional 200 for Boom Blox's adversarial and co-op modes, in addition to a fully featured level editor for custom scenario creation. More than a simple building-block game, Boom Blox plays heavy to physics simulation, and players will be afforded a wide variety of often-volatile ways to implode structures. The game also features the kind of charming humor that has become a hallmark of family-friendly games appearing on the Wii. More than 30 specially created characters will appear in the game, and each will impact gameplay in their own ways. Treasure: 2 Titles On Wii Developers of Treasure, studio known for legends like Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun, board in this moment on two new titles exclusively on Wii. The titles should be in 3d, even if it is not known if the gameplay will be him in 2d (like a shot thus). The rumours speak already about one following mythical Sin & Punishment, appeared on Nintendo 64. Square Enix Brings Soul Eater to Wii New action adventure title based off comic. Square Enix announced today Soul Eater Monotone Princess for the Wii. Fans of Japanese manga will recognize this as a videogame adaptation of the Soul Eater manga that's currently running in Japan's Shounen Gangan comic magazine. An action adventure, players take control of characters from the comic and work through an original storyline. The game promises to use the Wiimote for direct controls over its action sequences. Square Enix is teaming up with the creators of both the manga side of the franchise and the upcoming anime adaptation. The comic's creator, Atsushi Okubo, has created new characters for the adventure portions of the game. From the anime side, the game will feature animation sequences produced by Bones, the producer of the show. Soul Eater is currently without a release date in Japan and has not been announced for international release.

The polish studio is bringing its first Wii title, Sadness, to the world of black and white, utilising Emergent's Gamebryo engine to create an experience with small time and budget. According to the press release, Sadness is due to take place before the events of World War I with players finding themselves taking control of the lead character's hands using the Wii remote and nunchuck. Not much is known on the storyline itself, but Nibris have revealed that there will be 8 different endings based on choices made previously. "From the early stages of pre-production with Sadness, Nibris realized that they would need development technology that allowed for an extreme amount of flexibility in the creative process, which is a cornerstone of the Gamebryo framework. Sadness is designed to push the bounds of Wii technically and creatively. We are thrilled to be a part of Nibrisʼ ground-breaking product. Weʼre really looking forward to playing Sadness on Wii." Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent "Without a doubt, Gamebryo is the most powerful engine available for the Wii. After getting familiar with the engine several months ago we made the decision to choose Gamebryo. Since then, our team has been working on Sadness and we are quite impressed. We will have quite a few graphical effects in our game, which some believe are impossible to attain on the Wii. Gamebryo helped make it possible. We are firmly convinced we made the right choice." Tomasz Wisniowski, Project Manager of Nibris Gamebryo has been used in various different games, including Oblivion, Fallout 3, Playboy: The Mansion, Civilization IV and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. The studio also confirmed a screen that has been circulating the web:

One of the best console Karts in years. 8.0 Graphics Not mind-blowing, but charming and polished. True 16:9 is met with 480p, some decent effects, nice model work, mixed offerings in track design, and nice retro worlds. Runs at 60 frames. 7.5 Sound The Wii-mote speaker is actually helpful, the music is classic (elevator) Kart, and the character VO is only annoying sometimes. DK, we're looking mostly in your direction. 8.0 Gameplay Core gameplay is great, with tricking and bikes adding a whole new level. We could use a faster cc class though. Annoying rubber band AI makes 150cc a chore, and cheapens GP. 9.0 Lasting Appeal Local play is fun, but online rocks. Rankings, full ghost integration, reliable online play, smooth connections, Wi-Fi tournaments, and more make this one a must-have. 8.5 Great OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average)
