Achievements coming to Wii?

Metroid Prime 3 gets "token" achievement system to share with friends - other Nintendo games to follow?

 

Xbox 360 started the craze, PS3's following suit with Home and now it looks like even the Wii is hoping on the achievement bandwagon.

 

According to one avid GameFAQs gamer who got to play the game, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption features a "mini-achievement" system which dishes out coloured tokens for completing tasks.

 

Red tokens are awarded for scanning enemies/items, blue tokens for scanning lore and accomplishing side tasks and gold tokens are given for beating bosses on various difficulties. You can use tokens to unlock hidden content via an extras menu.

 

One example given is saving a pair of GF troopers from being killed, which pops up a blue token at the top of the screen for your "achievement".

 

The most interesting token of all is a "friends voucher", which you can send to your Wii comrades to unlock green tokens for both parties. Apparently this is more of a competition thing than unlocking actual game content.

 

Sounds great to us; we have an unhealthy obsession with 360's Gamerpoints. Will these Wii "tokens" make their way into Mario Galaxy and (chuckle) Wii Fit? We'll keep you posted.

 

 

 

Mario Kart Wii - The Tracks

Double Dash!! and Mario Kart DS circuits are in - will N64 and SNES tracks appear, too?

 

Mario Kart DS put all the best circuits of past Mario Kart games together into one package of Mario Kart gold and Mario Kart Wii will do the same. We've already seen Double Dash and Mario Kart DS tracks in the new game, and have our fingers crossed for some N64 and even SNES action, too. NGamer takes a look at the tracks we've seen so far...

 

New: MARIO CIRCUIT

Brand new! Part of the Flower Cup - which makes it middling difficulty in the Mario Kart canon - this race around the grounds of Peach's Castle takes you downhill from the off, then around some sharp 180-degree turns to show off your powersliding.

 

 

New: TOAD TUNNELS

Based off the twilight village of the Toads from Super Mario Sunshine, this comes with giant-sized bouncy toadstools that form a gradually descending staircase of fun. Pretty eerie look to this one. Pretty basic look, too.

 

 

New: WARIO MINES

Very much Wario's track - machinery works overhead, scooping gold out of the caverns - this has some hairy barrier-less rickety pathways preceded by speed strips that really want you to fall off. The course heads into tunnels and out into quaint 'villages'.

 

 

New: BABY MARIO MEADOWS

Greener's "I know I'm right" bet on the name for this wide-open countryside ramble. It's just possible to make out giant trackside Baby Mario and Baby Luigi caps on the first turn, before the snaking (shortcut-ripe but Goomba-laden) route through a big herd of happy cows.

 

 

LUIGI RACEWAY

It's left to Luigi to gently introduce players into the ways of Mario Kart again, with a fairly basic stadium-sided banked loop that only seems to differ from its Double Dash!! counterpart by racing clockwise rather than anti-clockwise.

 

 

YOSHI FALLS

We wouldn't be surprised to see all of Mario Kart DS's tracks make it into the game - not least because this generally featureless loop would be an odd choice for a 'best of' collection. Speed strips, multiple routes and speed-boosting water makes this a pure speedway.

 

 

PEACH BEACH

You'll recognise this from Mario Kart Double Dash!! - and a bloody brilliant course it is, too, barely 25 seconds a lap but with the same speed-scuppering rising tide as Koopa Trooper Beach of old and a great bumpy downhill area. Now give us Daisy Cruiser, Nintendo. Go on.

Oι καινούργιες εικόνες του Brothers in Arms είναι από το Brothers in Arms για XBOX πρίν από 3 χρόνια.

 

Η εταιρία τις δημοσίευσε ως Wii screenshots μετά από την αρνητική κριτική που δέχτηκε για τις μάπα Wii screenshots που δημοσίευσε τη περασμένη εβδομάδα....

 

Με λίγα λόγια, το BiA για το XBOX, παιχνίδι τριών χρόνων, έχει πολύ καλύτερα γραφικά από το καινούργιο BiA για το Wii.

Αυτά είναι που δεν μου αρέσουν και εμένα. Αυτή είναι η υποστήριξη που έλεγε παλιότερα η Ubistoft; Στις αρχές, ένα ελεεινό racing παιχνίδι, ένα ελλεινό port του Far Cry χειρότερο από του xbox, το Red Steel το οποίο έχει λάβει μέτριες βαθμολογίες, το μέτριο Raving Rabbids με τα mini-games και μελλοντικά ένα sequel (wow!), ένα port του Prince of Persia χειρότερο από του GameCube και πιο ακριβό και χωρίς αίμα και τέλος το κερασάκι στην τούρτα το Excitebike και το Pet Horsez 2....Έλεος!

 

Ευτυχώς που υπάρχει και η Retro και δημιουργεί αριστουργήματα.
