Nαί, συμφωνώ απολύτως.

 

Το friend code σύστημα ουσιαστικά σε απομονώνει από οποιαδήποτε online κοινότητα και σε περιορίζει σε μιά "εξομοίωση" του να φέρνεις σπίτι φίλους σου για να παίξετε κάνα διπλό.

 

Αντί να έρχονται οι κολλητοί σου σπίτι, κάθονται σπίτια τους και αφού πρώτα έχετε συνεννοηθεί τηλεφωνικώς/MSN/SMS κλ κλ για την ώρα, κάθεστε και παίζετε ο καθένας στο Wii του.

 

Εντάξει, δεν είναι ακριβώς έτσι, αλλά πάνω κάτω αυτή είναι η ουσία.

 

Τώρα, η πιθανότητα το κάθε παιχνίδι να έχει το δικό του friend code είναι ότι χειρότερο, μιάς και μας αναγκάζει σε άπειρες πληκτρολογήσεις άπειρων αριθμών. Μας κάνει τη ζωή δυσκολότερη χωρίς ουσιαστικό λόγο.

 

Από κεί και πέρα, προσωπικά δεν με ενδιαφέρει καθόλου. Είμαι καθαρά single-player gamer και ποτέ μου δεν ασχολήθηκα ιδιαίτερα με online εμπειρίες, οι οποίες και με αφήνουν παγερά αδιάφορο.

Official Nintendo press release - Wii Wins Again

 

 

 

According to independent sales data released by the NPD Group, the Wii from Nintendo was America’s best-selling video game console in the U.S. again in February, with consumers snapping up virtually every system available in America totaling more than 335,000 units.

 

Only one game system sold more in February, the portable Nintendo DS, with sell-through of 485,000 units.

 

Together, Nintendo systems represented 54 percent of all hardware sales in February, more than those of all other manufacturers combined.

 

“We’re gratified that the explosive appeal of Wii, in terms of both new players and new ways to play, has created unprecedented demand, substantially beyond supply,” says Reggie Fils-Aime, president, Nintendo of America. “But we also understand that there are hundreds of thousands of consumers still waiting to get their hands on the system so we continue to both ship more units to retail every week and work non-stop to build capacity.”

 

Reports from households across the country indicate that Wii has become the centerpiece for weekend parties, a new method for improving athletic technique and losing weight, and a landmark product for generating cross-generational fun.

 

The strength of Wii and Nintendo DS was also apparent in monthly software sales where three of the top four best-selling games for the month (Wii Play and The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess for Wii, and Diddy Kong® Racing DS for Nintendo DS) play exclusively on Nintendo systems. In addition, so far this year 10 of the top 20 best-selling games are exclusive for Nintendo hardware.

Two-Player Possibility for Super Mario Galaxy

Luigi may be set to tag along once again in new Wii platformer.

 

Miyamoto's keynote at GDC may have been devoid of much new information, but only cold-hearted fools and liars could say that the new Super Mario Galaxy video looked anything less than kick-ass. Still, as the game nears its end-of-the-year release, one has to wonder if Nintendo has any surprises in store for us.

 

The Wii software website for Super Mario Galaxy (smartly noticed by Cubed3) suggests that one little yet-to-be-unveiled bonus might be the inclusion of a two-player mode. This is obviously very much unconfirmed, but it could mark the first 3D console Mario platformer to revisit the old 2D Mario tradition of letting a second player take control of the pudgy plumber's slightly healthier brother Luigi.

 

That, or it could just be a crappy mini-game. Maybe it will be the twentieth Mario game to include the original Mario Bros. Oh, we could only be so lucky. Do the right thing, Nintendo.

Rumour: New Wii Demo Channel

 

Nintendo representative spills the beans.

 

Everyone wants a demo channel, right? Check out new and upcoming Wii games before they're officially released. Well, in many peoples minds this would be a dream and nothing more...until now.

 

Suposedly a Nintendo of Europe representative revealed information recently that a demo channel is indeed on the way.

 

When will we be able to download this channel? What game demos will be first to download? We will bring you more news as soon as we hear it.
