xrest Δημοσ. 13 Μαρτίου 2007 Δημοσ. 13 Μαρτίου 2007 Tiger Woods Swiings at Retailers The PGA Tour 07 drives into stores. Today, EA announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the Wii has shipped to retailers across North America. Gamers will be given a whole new level of control in the game, as each shot's power and spin will be affected by their real-life swing. Players hoping to avoid even a modicum of physical exertion will still be able to use the Wiimote/Nunchuk combination for a more traditional golf-game control method. "Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07 fits perfectly with the Wii and its innovative controller, so we're very excited to bring our game to the platform," said Todd Arnold, Executive Producer at EA Redwood Shores. Not only does Tiger's latest outing sport fancy-shmancy Wiimote controls, it also includes 18 championship courses and 35 pro and fantasy golfers. Gamers must climb the ranks, earning respect as a pro golfer, as they work their way through the Tiger Challenge. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the Wii will be available March 16 for a suggested price of $49.95.

Zelda to make online debut on DS San Francisco (CA) - Zelda will join the ranks of many other classic Nintendo franchises that have made their way online, with the release of Phantom Hourglass later this year. In an interview with Game Informer magazine, Zelda co-creater Eiji Aonuma was asked if The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass will have online multiplayer battles. Without elaborating, he just said, "Yes." This will make Phantom Hourglass the first Zelda title in the series' 20-year history to include online functionality. The multiplayer will be quite limited, however, because the game devotes most of its space to the single-player campaign. Nintendo partners with GameSpy for enhanced online play Το ξανακανω post γιατι περασε λιγο γρηγορα στην προηγουμενη σελιδα. In a press release sent out today, GameSpy has announced it will provide "multiplayer technology" to publishers developing games for the Wii. The middleware allows the same online functionality found in DS games but will include friend rosters, matchmaking, and ranking data similar to Xbox Live. It's about time! Looks like Nintendo is finally willing to share their online service with 3rd party developers. Nintendo has had a toe in the online world since Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection launched in 2005, but game-specific friend codes and the lack of a central hub have made the service a cumbersome experience. Could this mean the end of friend codes and the beginning of a beautiful online experience? Koei Reveals Original Wii Game, Opoona For people wanting something other than Dynasty Warriors. What the Wii needs more of are daring, bold, innovative and new games. We're starting to see more of these as time goes on, and Koei's joined the fray with Opoona, and there are some heavy hitters landing their talents to this quirky adventure. First, the setup. Opoona is not only the game's title, but the name of the main character, as well. Opoona, a descendant of the brave Cosmo Guards, is visiting the planet Landroll with his family, when he's separated from them and find his parents in the hospital for series injuries and both his brother and sister completely missing. What happened? In Opoona, it's your job to earn a license to travel to other colonies and find out. These licenses are different jobs -- rescuer, idol, detective -- and players pick and choose what they'd like to become. Despite the somewhat serious sounding subject matter, Opoona's art style suggest the game is anything but. Shintaro Majima heads art direction on this project, while Sachiko Yukimura, who has worked with Yuji Hori several times on the Dragon Quest series, joins as planning director. Most exciting for RPG fanboys, however, is Hitoshi Sakimoto, the composer of Final Fantasy XII's excellent soundtrack, penning the music. In a bit of a twist, Opoona is controlled without touching the Wiimote whatsoever. We only have a brief description of combat from Koei, but they claim movement and "Active Bombom Battle," which encompasses the game's combat scenarios, is controlled entirely by the nunchuck, allowing for one-handed play. Snapping the nunchuck fires projectiles at enemies, whose trajectory can be changed by moving the nunchuck. No release date set for this one yet -- Koei will only say TBA -- but stay tuned. Gamespot Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 Review Gameplay 8 Graphics 6 Sound 7 Value 7 Tilt 8 Overall: 7.5 Good Tiger Woods 07's excellent use of the Wii's motion-sensing abilities makes it a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to hit the links on the Wii. The Good: Swinging the Wii remote like a golf club isn't perfect, but works very well; good number of courses and golfers; "true aiming" adds to the game's realism without making it too hard. The Bad: Visuals aren't easy on the eyes; online play is missed; instruction manual does a poor job explaining controls and game modes. Valve "missed the boat" on Wii I am desperately trying to download the Doug Lombardi (Valve) interview from GameTrailers. Reader Tom was nice enough to sum up what is said. At the end of the interview Mr. Lombardi says that Valve was caught off guard by the success of the Wii, and they will entertain the idea of developing on the platform if the appropriate idea comes along. Make sure to check out the interview below to see exactly how Mr. Lombardi puts it. Glowing Nunchuck Tutorial

I donʼt know what it is, but I just canʼt get over it. It really looks amazing, every single second of gameplay. I think this game is going to more than make up for those that were upset with Sunshine. If you are looking for a minute by minute breakdown of the trailer, GamePro has got you covered. rebellion Δημοσ. 14 Μαρτίου 2007 Δημοσ. 14 Μαρτίου 2007 No unified gamer tags for Wii according to Falafelkid As I always state with a story related to Falafelkid, I always trust his information 100% Having said that, take a look at his conversation with a GameSpy rep about the Wiiʼs online features. Falafelkid: I would like to know if I am right in assuming that the features mentioned (friend rosters, advanced matchmaking capabilities and comprehensive rankings data) suggest a single, unified online platform for each console, rather than one which is dependent on individual games (as is the case with the DS). GameSpy: GameSpyʼs technology does allow for features that could span multiple games. With the Nintendo Wii, however, the multiplayer features are title-specific. Falafelkid: But is that the case for all Wii online titles across the board? GameSpy: Yes, that is the case for Wii titles. Falafelkid: Just one last question to make absolutely sure I have got this right, please. If I have a friend roster in one game, that roster will not be available to me in any other game. I have to build up an entirely new list for each title, right? GameSpy: The answer to your question is yes, for the Wii friend lists are game specific. Uh-oh…I think this is going to make a lot of people angry…myself included. Huge thanks to Elinformante for the heads up. http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/2007/03/breaking-no-unified-gamer-tags-or-codes.html

IGN N-Query Question: Heyaa. I was in EB the other day picking up SSX for Wii & 2k7 for 360 and I noticed they had the MySims display box up. The interesting part to this little story is on the front there was the Wi-Fi network symbol and on the back described how you can go online with your sims and interact etc. Can you guy confirm this? Thanks! Matt: I recently interviewed EA about the game - Iʼll post the transcript soon - and the developer wouldnʼt come right out and say it, but made very clear to me that it is exploring an online component for MySims. The signage you saw only strengthens my belief that the game will have it. Oh, and on a side note, Iʼve chatted with some third parties now who already have online components in their forthcoming Wii projects. Itʼs coming, guys - Pokemon Battle Revolution kicks it off in the near future, but in the next six months youʼre going to start seeing a wave of third party games that take Wii online, too. Developers have had the online SDK for months now and the next wave of titles will incorporate it.
