Nintendo diffuses a first image of Disaster: Day of Crisis on Wii. This new play of adventure developed by Monolith Software will put in scene a young hero named Ray which will have obviously to try to survive vis-a-vis with natural disasters, it will have to also fight rebels who seized the nuclear weapon benefitting from the unstable situation. The exit of the play is planned for this year in Japan.

 

 

 

 

Forever Blue

 

Nintendo diffuses a new image of Forever Blue on Wii. Développé by Arika, Forever Blue is a play in which the player incarnates a plunger which will have the possibility of observing impressive sharks whales and other aquatic animals in the ocean. Few information are available on this play for the moment, in particular on the level of the use of the controller Wii, his exit is in any case programmed for this year in Japan.

H εικόνα που βλέπεις είναι σκαναρισμένη από το Nintendo Power.

 

Επίσης δεν μας δείχνει αρκετά πράγματα για να κρίνουμε το οτιδήποτε εκτός από 2 πράγματα:

 

Το μοντέλο του χαρακτήρα είναι υψηλής λεπτομέρειας και

 

Δεν παρατηρούμε hard-edges πουθενά επάνω του.

Τίποτα, απλώς είπα να πώ καμιά κοτσάνα να περάσει η ώρα

 

Η εικόνα που βλέπουμε είναι αρκετών μηνών, είχε δημοσιευθεί σε κάποιο Nintendo Power περιοδικό και σκαναρίστηκε. (edit: Wilipedia: Η εικόνα είναι του Nintendo Power τεύχος Ιανουαρίου)

 

Απλώς, το μόνο θετικό που υπάρχει στην εικόνα που βλέπουμε είναι ο χαρακτήρας, ο οποίος φαίνεται να είναι υψηλής/καλής λεπτομέρειας και επίσης αρκετά λεπτομερή textures στις επιφάνειες.

 

Από κεί και πέρα, η λάβα φαίνεται άθλια, υπάρχουν πολλά jaggies στο γύρω περιβάλλον εκτός του χαρακτήρα και αυτά.

 

Με μόνο μία εικόνα δεν μπορούμε να βγάλουμε κανένα επικοδομητικό συμπέρασμα.

 

Εντωμεταξύ βιάστηκα να παραθέσω πρίν και έκανα τραγικό λάθος:

 

Είναι η ομάδα του Baiten kaitos που βρίσκεται πίσω από το σχεδιασμό του παιχνιδιού, βάση τουλάχιστον αυτών που διαβάζω στα ξένα φόρουμς. Αλλά μπορεί να είναι και λάθος.

Holy crap: Beyond Oasis confirmed for VC, some other Sega games too

You read that headline right, Beyond Oasis (which spawned the, we think, better sequel Legend of Oasis on the Saturn) is headed to a Virtual Console near you some time in the future. Whether you share our opinion or not is without relevance, however one cannot argue with the fact that Beyond Oasis was one of the best action-adventure, let alone best overall, titles to grace Sega's Genesis system.

 

 

Perrin Kaplan talks Wii 2.0

 

During an interview with GameDaily.Biz, Nintendo's Perrin Kaplin talked the Wii up and even got to mentioning the GameCube. What's most interesting, however, is her response to the question of whether consumers would see a revision to the Wii hardware, with which she responded "Sure, absolutely. You'll see the ways in which we do that." This, of course, does not come as a surprise, as Nintendo has been notorious for hardware revisions to its products (DS Lite, GBA SP etc), yet might anger Wii owners who had a tough time acquiring the console in its first few months of release should the company reveal a revision too soon. With Nintendo's exemplary record of doing this, however, we're sure such a mistake is beyond their capabilities.

 

Perrin also goes on to comment on the GameCube, supporting rumors that the company is no longer manufacturing systems or software for it. "Are we producing any more GameCubes? No. But do we have the inventory there for people to still purchase? Yes."

Ναι αλλα οταν το gameplay και ο χειρισμος που τοσο διατυμπανιζουν εναντι των γραφικων ειναι χαλια,το μονο που μενει να κανεις ειναι να βρισεις

 

Δεν ειπαμε πως δινουμε βαση στα γραφικα,αλλα αυτα πρεπει να εκμεταλευονται την κονσολα και οχι να ειναι επιπεδου ps2 και πιο κατω.

Ocarina of Time graces UK VC

Link's N64 masterpiece hits Wii in glorious hi-res, along with Kid Icarus.

 

 

 

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, one of the best games ever made, is now available to download on the UK Virtual Console.

 

This game needs no intro. If you've already played it you know how near perfect it is, and if you haven't you should download it now.

 

In fact, the only reason why you might be excused for not zapping this beauty down your internet pipe is if you own either of the Zelda bonus discs for GameCube, which already let you play the game in nice, sharp resolutions on the 'Cube and indeed Wii thanks to its backwards compatibility.

 

The best news is that the UK release of Ocarina has not suffered the same escalated price as the 1200-Wii Point Japanese version, costing 1000 Wii Points over here - as per usual for N64 games.

 

Kid Icarus, a quirky NES platformer, also appeared in the latest update. You take control of the arrow-firing angel, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl newcomer, Pit. That'll set you back 500 Wii Points.

Analyst: 30 percent of US Wii-equipped by 2011

Merrill Lynch's Yoshiyuki Kinoshita predicts 30 percent of American and one third of Japanese homes will contain Nintendo's new console in four years.

 

 

Yesterday, industry-research firm NPD Funworld reported that the Wii is the US' best-selling console at present. Shortly thereafter, the Wednesday edition of the Financial Times contained a bold prediction about the console's future--which he believes will be brighter than anyone previously thought.

 

A report in the The Financial Times quotes one of Tokyo's more prominent game analysts, Merrill Lynch's Yoshiyuki Kinoshita, as being beyond bullish on the Wii. He told the UK-based business daily that he expects the console, which has appealed to nongamers via its motion-sensing capabilities, to be in 30 percent of US homes by 2011. In Japan, Kinoshita expects a full third of households to have the machine in four years.

 

But while such predictions are the boon--or bane--of console-war partisans, they are just that--predictions. And, among analysts, those are in no short supply. Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter foresees the currently third-place PlayStation 3 as winning in the long haul due to its processing brawn and high-storage Blu-ray drive. Others predict any Sony surge will be undermined by an Xbox 360 price cut, perhaps as early as this year.

Midway bullish on Wii, 2 more titles

 

During a call to investors, Midway was asked about their stance on the Wii. They said that they have been interested in the Wii since they first saw the console, but following recent sales they stated that there has been a "small shift to look more significantly at the Wii going forward." Midway also stated that they have two more titles in the works for the Wii, which are due to ship the second half of 2007. Midway also said that the Wii is "growing to a large install base rather quickly," and that the "lower development costs compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3" are definitely motivators in developing for the platform.
