The Frag Dolls are a team of gamers recruited by Ubisoft to represent their video games and promote the presence of women in the gaming industry. Started in 2004 by an open call for female gamers, the Frag Dolls immediately rocketed to the spotlight after winning the Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow tournament in a shut-out at their debut appearance. Soon after, the team began appearing in major gaming publications like Electronic Gaming Monthly, and filmed episodes for three different G4 television shows. They followed their early success by taking open challenges in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for 32 undefeated hours during the four-week Electronic Gaming Championship. The Frag Dolls celebrated their one-year anniversary at the 2005 Penny Arcade Expo and repeated their shut-out performance in a new tournament, Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike. Soon after they appeared on the pilot episode of the popular new Gamehead television show on Spike TV. The team then toured with the Major League Gaming circuit for the 2005 season, taking open challenges in a variety of Ubisoft titles. They moved to the World Series of Video Games circuit in 2006 where they compete in Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter with other professional-level teams. The Frag Dolls are known not only for being skilled gamers in multiple titles, but for their advocacy of female gamers. The Frag Dolls have spoken on panels at the Women's Game Conference and two of the Women in Games International conferences. They have stated a desire for more female gamers in multiple interviews and have developed a gaming community friendly to other women interested in trying out video games. The Frag Dolls can be found online or offline playing a variety of videogames in every genre, from RPGs and point-and-click PC adventures to FPS on the Xbox 360. Each week they write blogs about events, news in the industry, and their experience as gamers. You can find them online during regularly scheduled times, or talk with them in their community forums.
