God Of War 3: A Closer Look @ GamePro

 

According to GamePro's senior editor Sid Shuman, "God of War III is ten times bigger than Shadow of the Colossus," referencing the gargantuan size of the environments and angry Titans. "Instead of climbing up the Titans, you're actually playing entire levels on them." Visually, the ferocious energy of God of War II is captured with photorealistic graphics for God of War III; "There's a sense of power to it all," says Shuman, and "the graphics are absolutely shocking." Because the graphics are so good, the camera pulls in tighter on the characters and showcases gorier, more brutal animations than ever before. As you can see here, Kratos rips off the head of Helios the sun god with striking realism. Let's take a closer look.

DETAIL 1: Rip off his head - As Kratos tugs on the head of Helios the sun god, senior editor Sid Shuman says, "You're in control the whole time; it's a quick-time sequence like in the other games." It's shocking really, "You can see the fear and anguish in Helios's face as Kratos strains to tear his head off." The breaking point occurs when the neck skin tears and stretches, revealing muscle tendons and copious amounts of blood. The camera never looks away.

 

DETAIL 2: The Golden Fleece - Kratos is still in possession of Jason's Golden Fleece from God of War II. As you can see here, the Golden Fleece is majestically rendered in high definition, smattered with blood, and reflects light in real time. The Golden Fleece was used to reflect projectiles in GoW II. In GoW III, however, senior editor Sid Shuman says he did not see this move performed yet, "but wouldn't be surprised if it's in the game."

 

DETAIL 3: The Blades of Chaos - The primary weapons of choice, The Blades of Chaos, still remained chained to Kratos's wrists and are accompanied by new weapons and items in GoW III. The Cestus, for example, are a pair of huge spring-loaded gauntlets. The Cestus enables Kratos to bully his way up close to enemies, and also grants him a nimbler dodge move that allows him to literally counterpunch incoming attackers.

 

DETAIL 4: Supreme animation - Kratos's facial expressions are hyper detailed with scowls and individually modeled teeth, which he bears often when performing strenuous combos and speaking angrily to the gods. Also, notice the attention to detail on Kratos's chipped and broken fingernails.

As a result, the binary version of the NVIDIA® PhysX® technology software development kit (SDK) is now available to registered PS3 developers for free download and use on the SCEI Developer Network.

The NVIDIA PhysX technology software development kit SDK consists of a full-featured API and robust physics engine, designed to give developers, animators, level designers, and artists unprecedented creative control over character and object physical interactions by allowing them to author and preview physics effects in real time. Επειδη δεν εχω Ιντερνετ στο σπιτι κατεβασα το update 2.60 απο τη δουλεια απο το site της Αγγλιας. Θα δουλέψει ή θα εχω πρόβλημα λόγω χώρας.

Σχετικα με την εγκατάσταση εαν βάλω το στικακι στο USB θα αναγνωρισει το update αυτόματα;

EA ANNOUNCES A NEW MULTIPLAYER MODE IS COMING FOR THE GODFATHER II

 

 

 

Be the Don and Lead Your Family to Victory Online

 

 

 

Redwood City, CA – March 13, 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced that a new multiplayer mode, called Don Control, will be coming to The Godfather® II game. This new mode will be available as a free downloadable* patch right when the game releases on April 7th in North America and April 10th in Europe. Don Control takes the “Think Like a Don” strategic gameplay into an online environment and allows players to build a family, command them in battle and view the action from a bird’s eye view above.

 

 

 

Don Control introduces an additional layer of gameplay on top of the four multiplayer modes and six maps already available in the game and invites players to compete to see who is the ultimate Don of Dons. Players can now challenge one another in 16-player battles for their in-game currency from the single-player game. As a Don online, players can recruit others to join their family by giving them a cut of the profits. But if a player loses as Don, the in-game currency they wagered will be removed in their single-player campaign and their empire can come crumbling down.

 

 

 

The Godfather II takes the open-world genre in an entirely new direction by blending the furious combat of being a mobster with the strategic thinking of being a Don both offline and online. As a Don in the Corleone family, The Godfather II lets the player carve out their own story of deception, betrayal, and conquest in a 1960’s organized crime world. Players will have to build and invest in their family, command their crew, and manage their family business, all of which is done through the revolutionary Don’s View. The Don’s View is a 3D representation of the player's criminal empire, putting the player in the Don’s mindset; it allows them to coordinate their strategy, plan hits on rival made men, attack enemy rackets, and much more.

 

 

 

The Godfather II game from Electronic Arts and Paramount Digital Entertainment will be available on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and PC. The game has been rated M for Mature by the ESRB and 18+ for PEGI. Players who pre-order The Godfather II at participating retailers worldwide will receive an exclusive crew member, named Tommy Cipolla, to hire into their family.
