Lego Batman: The Video Game

 

LEGO Batman is an upcoming video game developed by Traveller's Tales. It will be similar to the LEGO Star Wars series, in that it will both be a game based on a licensed property and have environments, objects and creatures made out of LEGO. Warner Bros. will be handling the publishing, marketing and financing aspects.

 

Traveller's Tales have not revealed many details about the game other than it will star Batman fighting crime in Gotham City.

 

An early build has been created and shown at certain conferences (such as at Game On in London) by designer Jonathan Smith himself for the PS2 console, with a small playable area sporting the exact same HUD as LEGO Star Wars II. Characters on screen each have individual animations and both Batman and Robin have their original TV show dressing style. Only a Fall 2008 date has been announced. No additional information about the game was given, aside from the style of the game focusing more on the original TV series and comics rather than the new movies. The Joker and the Penguin will make a playable appearance.

 

Upon being contacted, developer Jonathan Smith stated that they will definitely be developing more LEGO games in the future. Whether he means to say that they will develop more LEGO style games based on licensed properties or all LEGO games is not known.

 

This game is mainly focusing on the storyline of the movie Batman Begins and it will usually take place in Gotham City.

With millions of unique users logging in every week, Facebook and Orkut are true Web 2.0 wonders. Social networking is the new addiction, and it's spreading like wild fire. If you're not hooked on to it yet, pretty soon it will catch up with you. Nevertheless, there are limitations to social networking; and if Sony's ambitious plans are to be believed, this phenomenon may soon include much more than scraps.

Let me bring Sony's Home to your notice, a unique initiative that may soon silence all its critics. It was announced last year in March; the service was supposed to go live in December but was eventually postponed for late 2008 release. Home is a virtual world, very vaguely similar to Second Life. In Home, every PS3 owner gets his own personal space or an apartment at no extra cost, which makes it even better.

Home is an avatar-based virtual world and every PS3 owner is invited. The service will be a free download, which rumors say will be around 500 MB in size. In this virtual neighborhood you'll make friends, chat, visit unique areas, and go shopping. Let's look at Home in more detail.

PS3 owners demand porn, Digital Playground steps up to the plate

Digital Playground has moved from neutral to Blu in the format war. Given recent events, it's not a surprising turn, and the studio's Blu-ray library that debuted with "Pirates" will swell to nine movies by January 11. Coming to the roster are: "Island Fever" 3 and 4, "Babysitters," "Jack's Teen America 3," "Jesse Jane: Sexual Freak," "Hush," "Contract Star" and "Jesse Jane Pink." Studio founder Joone (yeah, only one name) does not credit any picture quality issues in the decision, and even said there was no difference between the two formats. The real reason was consumer demand -- specifically PS3 owners. No mention of how the titles might leverage interactive features, although we're willing to, uh, review sample discs.

Description:This map has an incredible amount of detail. I wish I could fly that chopper. The trees look amazing but you will notice the framrate drop when checking out the trees. Thats how detailed those trees are. Visit the post link and give the author some feedback. Maybe jayoplus will tweak the trees to lowres for the PS3 so the fps doesn't drop.

jayoplus writes, " Bunker is made mostly with static meshes (except for the walls of the middle corridor).

Most meshes are in game meshes that were modified; and other meshes were either bought or downloaded (for free) from 3d websites .

Xyx writes, "This mutator works by removing the Scene_Desaturation value in postprocessing volumes. This value is usually set at around 0.2 or 0.3, effectively draining up to 30% of the game's color, and it didn't have a whole lot to begin with..."

Description:This map is gorgeous and huge. The biggest user-created map released so far, so make sure to be patient while it is downloading, wait till it says "Download complete". The outside garden is really cool. You won't believe this is ShadeMistress' first map.

ShadeMistress writes, "This is my first-ever UT3 map, so let me know what you think of it. It was largely inspired by the multi-player Temple map from Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64, but later made another appearance in Perfect Dark, with darker, moodier textures. Hence the name PerfectTemple, cuz I was a big fan of Perfect Dark for a while."
