Eidos expect big PS3 sales by next year

PS3's installed base will outstrip 360's within a year, says Eidos CFO Rob Murphy. He expects the PS3 to be in 10 million homes or more by April 2008

η eidos πριν απο λιγο καιρο δεν ανακοινωσε οτι δεν θα βγαλει τα επομενα games της για ps3?

New tidbits from the latest issue of Arcadia Magazine indicate a massive overhaul for many of the older characters in Tekken 6. Among the main highlights of the article were:

 

* Animations have been changed for every character!

* All characters have an “item move”, like the Bryan shotgun we saw at the AOU trailer. Although not all of them will have the same effectiveness.

* An example of an “item move” will be Anna throwing her high heels at her opponents.

* Harada officially stated that Leo IS a girl.

* So far Yoshimitsu has gone under the most drastic change. Harada notes that it will be much more difficult to use Yoshimitsu this time around and they consider him an “Expert” character. Part of his story includes the fact that his sword is now losing power and he must take a new fighting style, Kenjutsu from the Manji clan, this includes both dual sword fighting and pure fist fighting!

* A lot of Lei Wulongʼs laying down stances have been changed. They look more like Lei Fei and Shun Diʼs laying down stance from Virtua Fighter 5. They also changed the properties where Lei can be counter-hit and juggled out of his laying down stances.

* Many changes were done to Marshall Law. It is noted that fans of Bruce Lee and those that know of Jeet Kune Do will be very pleased.

VR/3D Controller for your Sony PS3

 

Lately Virtual Reality/3D game control devices have been all the rage. Wii Remote or various VR gloves come to mind.

 

But while Wii Remote is good at tracking your 3D hand movements, basically thatʼs it. VR Gloves can capture a wider array of control gestures, but they are very inconvenient to use. Just think of putting them on and off everytime you want to play a game.

 

What if you could have a device that is as easy to use as Wii Remote, but could capture all you palm, finger and hand movements? Wouldnʼt it be cool?

 

Sony thinks so too and may soon have a 3D PS3 game controller to prove it. At least thatʼs what their patent application for “Hand-held computer interactive device” describes:

 

 

This 3D game controller is designed to be held in your hands, is able to capture all your palm and finger movements and transmit them as commands to your PS3 or Vaio PC. You can pick up and manipulate various objects on screen just by squeezing and relaxing your fingers.

 

The device is even able to give you a tactile feedback. That is, you will be able to “feel” when you pick up or press something on the screen.

 

Add to it a few gyroscopes and 3D hand motion detection technology described in previous Sony patents and they may have a perfect 3D game controller for your PS3 soon.
