first, lacks of game modes. No 2 player mode, no time-attack mode, no arcade mode and yes...no multiplayer/online mode. there are only 1 game mode; The Festival. We will be given tickets to enter a race. complete some race, then you will get new tickets to unlock new race. so far, there are 4 level of race. level 1 is the easiest and I think level 4 is the toughest (I just manage to unlock level 3).

 

Second, there are only 8 tracks. eventhough the tracks are big, pretty long and have multiple routes, I have to admit 8 tracks are quite few for todays racing game (compared to other racing titles).

Been playing for the past few hours..

 

First off.. the demo track still seems to be the best looking, and plays the best. The big open tracks are fun although this is a hard game.. you really need to learn the tracks to stop falling off the edges and crashing into things.

 

The mud deformations are really cool, but you don't notice them whilst playing.. you have to stop and swirl around and play with it to get the best effect (then lose the race :|)

 

I've noticed several graphical glitches which were present in the demo and are in the full release.. most notably the juddering shadows and the alpha sorting issues on fire effects and explosions.

 

The ATVs are my favorite vehicles so far for controllability.. and the big rigs are good for sliding around.

 

I would say the game looks fantastic when you pause it and swing the camera around, but it merely looks good from the in-game perspective. There are exceptions to this, of course (some Wow moments) but a lot of the courses don't show the texture detail and modelling from the gameplay perspective, lending it a solid but not incredible graphical look. It also seems slightly too saturated, like a lot of ps3 games.

 

Gonna play some more now.. I'm only a few hours in so my opinions may change dramatically.. I tried taking some shots, not very good quality but I'll upload them later.

Final Fantasy XI fans may now have their chance to play on the PS3.

December 15, 2006 - Sony Computer Entertainment today released a small update for the PlayStation 3 that allows PlayStation 2 games to store cache data on the hard disc drive, like Final Fantasy XI or the SOCOM map pack. Rather than a regular system update that would up your firmware version number, the update is a standalone package available on the PlayStation Store.

 

The update runs nearly 7MB in size and basically looks to create a virtual space for PS2 hard drive support. PS2 games that can use, or in the case of Final Fantasy XI, require the hard drive will simply prompt you to save the data as per normal. On the PlayStation 3, this data chunk is listed under the Game Data Utility like any other cache information would be, though it's all stored in a single piece of data.

 

So for those of you who want to try out FFXI on the PlayStation 3, now's your chance.

αυτος ο adam λεει οτι τραβαει τις fotos με μια nikon d70 σε τριποδο,

βεβαια σε pause mode, οχι ingame.

 

λεει επισης οτι δεν εχει παιξει photoshop, και τον πιστευουμε.

αυτο που δεν πιστευουμε ομως, ειναι οτι καποιες φωτογραφιες (οι δικες του δηλ.) ειναι σε ποιοτητα ΠΟΛΥ καλυτερες απο direct feed. (πραγμα που το λενε ολοι, ακομα και σε εκεινο το thread που λινκαρες)

 

οταν συμβαινει αυτο λοιπον, (off-screen fotos > direct feed) προκειται για ταλαντουχο φωτογραφο.

ειμαι σιγουρος πως ΟΤΙ game θα φωτογραφιζει αυτος, θα βγαινει πολυ καλυτερο απο την πραγματικοτητα.
