Huxley is a massively multiplayer online first person shooting game utilizing the UNREAL3 engine to create a world of up to 5,000 players in the same gaming environment. Huxley takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternative.

Εντυπωσιακά βιντεάκια. Ωραία μοντέλα, 3d engine (unreal 3.0 yeaheee), (κάπως κακό animation ακόμα), npc τερατάκια, όπλα, περιβάλλοντα.

Αισιοδοξο κάπως για MMO FPS και για αυτά που λέει ότι θέλει να πετυχει (αλλά πάλι δεν έχω ασχοληθει με ΜΜO games ακόμα οπότε μόνο υποθέσεις μπορώ να κάνω για το πόσο εφικτά είναι αυτά πχ πάνω απο 100 players σε μια μάχη με τέτοια λεπτομέρεια).

Μάλλον δε θα το δούμε στα pc πριν τα τέλη του 2007...

Ωραίο game είναι. Αλλά ότνος 100 players se μια μάχη... τι σύνδεση πρέπει να έχει κάποιος??? Μαλλον για την ελλάδα θα είναι λίγο απαγορευτικό game. Για τους home players τουλάχιστων.

Με μια αξιοπρεπή σύνδεση, κάποιος που παίζει BF2 αξιοπρεπώς πιστεύω πως θα μπορεί να το παίξει. Oι απαιτήσεις του game τώρα είναι άλλη ιστορία, και θα χρειαστεί σίγουρα hi-end hardware για να "δείξει" το game το πραγματικό του πρόσωπο.

WEBZEN Announces The First Closed Beta Test For Huxley

Great news everyone, we now have the confirmed date for the Huxley closed beta testing, here is what we found straight from Webzen:

 

 

Global online entertainment company WEBZEN Inc. (WEBZEN - Global Digital Entertainment Leader) announced today the dates of the much-anticipated first closed beta test for Huxley¢â, the next-generation MMOFPS. The closed beta test will start on September 13.

 

One of the year¡¯s most anticipated titles, Huxley is the cutting-edge, next-generation MMOFPS, fusing traditional FPS with the quest and character growth system of the MMORPG. Being developed as a truly global game title for Webzen, Huxley has already been creating a sensation in the markets in Europe and North America with rave reviews and a $35 million deal with a Chinese publisher.

 

After 999 lucky beta testers are selected from the official Huxley website beginning on August 28, the closed beta test will take place from September 13 for five days. For the first time ever, testers will get a chance to experience the city where the characters live and breath. They will also be treated to a variety of play modes such as team death match and radar domination, as well as the core systems, including the quest, not seen before in standard FPS games.

 

¡°With Huxley¡¯s many innovative elements, gamers are in for a totally different experience,¡± said Nam-Ju Kim, chief executive officer of Webzen, Inc. ¡°Huxley is sure to challenge the existing genres with a new look and feel in multiple platforms. Meanwhile, Webzen has been conducting various testing and external network tests with a focus group since June to better gauge gamer preferences and evaluate the game¡¯s stability. The first closed beta test is a part of a planned series of user tests.

Huxley gets publisher, dated for 2008

Online FPS finally on its way to PC this year, 360 still up in the air...

 

Online first-person shooter Huxley has finally found a publisher that will release the game through an online portal later this year.

 

Distributor NHN USA has confirmed it has picked up the rights to publish the title in North America and Western Europe (that's us).

 

Those eagerly anticipating the combination of twitch-based gameplay and role-play sensibilities will be able to download it from the NHN USA's portal http://www.ijji.com.

 

NHN USA has yet to elaborate on plans for a more traditional retail release, but the company also owns the first-look rights to publish the game on 360.

 

Given developer Webzen has previously stated that the console version would arrive approximately six months after the PC release, we wouldn't be surprised to see a simultaneous box release sometime next year.
