Stargate Worlds {MMORPG}

MGM Interactive and Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment have announced Stargate Worlds, an MMORPG based on the popular Stargate SG-1 television show.

 

Stargate Worlds provides players with a form of ranged combat unique to MMORPG that will take full advantage of modern and science fiction weaponry, cover, and terrain. Players will be able to form squads with their friends or use bots for players who want to go solo. Squad leaders will control maneuvers and objectives through an innovative combat control interface. Players may choose to create characters that are members of either the SGC (the Good Guys) or the System Lords (the Bad Guys).

SDCC 08: Stargate Worlds Hands-on

No Kurt Russell … yet.

 

It seems like since Stargate Worlds was announced, all we've gotten to see of it is trailer after trailer. Don't get me wrong, that's generally how game announcements go, but with an MMO delving into a franchise as deep as Stargate, you really just want to sit down and play the thing.

 

Today at the San Diego Comic-Con, I did just that...

Το SG και SG Atlantis είναι πολύ επιτυχημένες σειρές στην Αμερική με συνολικά 14 seasons μέχρι σήμερα. Στο κοινό αυτών των σειρών στοχεύει το παιχνίδι, αλλά δε νομίζω ότι κανένα MMORG έχει τύχη, όσο υπάρχει το WoW.

Stargate Worlds Beta Begins Wednesday

 

Closed beta testing begins Wednesday, with open status occurring early next year. To get in on the action, go here.

 

“This is a huge step for us,” said Joe Ybarra, FireSky senior vice president strategic operations. “Weʼve spent the better part of the last two years building our publishing unit and making sure that our Beta and our 2009 launch exceed everyoneʼs expectations.”

 

The Stargate Worlds Closed Beta will feature a staggered entry as testers are allowed into the game in waves. New areas and archetypes will be added over the course of the play test until all features are thoroughly tested and bugs are found and fixed.

 

“This is the home stretch and thereʼs no time to let up,” said Stargate Worlds Studio Head Dan Elggren. We need these beta testers to put a new set of eyes on the game and help us make Stargate Worlds the success that we all believe it can be.”

 

In Stargate Worlds, gamers:

• Feel the heat - Master the battlefield using modern tactics and firepower.
  
• Travel instantly - Dial up the Stargate to explore dozens of worlds from ancient civilizations to high tech planets.

κερδισα key για τη beta....αντε να δω τι εχει να μας πει αν και παλι για κουβα το αισθανομαι...σαν την blizzard καμια,αν και ελπιζω στη bioware να κανει το θαυμα της με το kotor mmo

Θα το δοκιμαζα ευχαριστως ως demo! Συνηθως ομως οι σειρες δεν μεταφερονται τοσο καλα σε video-game!

είναι MMORPG οπότε δεν νομίζω να υπάρξει demo... όσο για budie keys ή trials πολύ μετά την ημερομηνία έκδοσης του.

Stargate Worlds About to Crash & Burn?

 

A former Firesky employee told MMORPG that the developer is running out of funds and the game's fate could be sealed in a matter of days as a looming Aug. 1st deadline set by MGM to find new funds is about to expire, which will revert the rights back.
