Τι ειναι τα .par2 files

Εδω και πολυ καιρο στα διαφορα releases βλεπω συμπληρωματικα με τα rars kaiτι αρχεια του τυπου vol001+056.par2 poy δεν εμποδιζουν το extraction omos.Χερει κανεισ που χρησιμευπθν?

What is a PAR file? Parchive parity files (or par files for short) create redundant data that can be used later in case parts of the original data is lost or corrupted. Par files allow file level recovery of data. That is, out of a group of many files, if a limited number of files are lost or corrupted, they can be recovered. These files will have the extensions of .par, .p01, .p02 etc.

AR2 Files

Increasingly, PAR2 files are taking over where PAR files left off. More and more posters are using PAR2 files because they are more economical to use. The main difference between the two systems is that the PAR2 files are replacing missing or corrupt blocks in the archive not entire files. This, in general, means that whatever you are missing in the archive (how many blocks), even if it is much less than an entire file, can be replaced.
