Swedish Form New Political Party: "Piratpartiet"

It is well known in the P2P world that Sweden has commonly had wide public acceptance for the so-called 'piracy' that happens on P2P networks. From the PirateBay's legal center to the outstanding ratio of P2P users in the nation, it is clear that the Swedes are people who don't care for corporate welfare, but this news is even still shocking.

A new political party has risen to the scene of Sweden's government, "Piratpartiet", or the english translation of this; The Pirate Party. The new party is made of Swedish citizens who seek to prevent the fate of the USA's citizens (being sued by copyright holders of online sharing). They also look to prevent new legislation that would seek to incriminate the acts of P2P users and seek to create new legislation to protect privacy rights and freedom of speech online, as well as, fair-use rights for consumers of media products.

The Pirate Party hopes to gain seats in Parliament in fall of 2006, and is widely-supported in Sweden.

Atleast one nation is doing something to stop these lunatics, unfourtanently the USA allows the bullying of it's citizens by foreign corporations. Let's hope this new party is successful and the trend continues through other nations!
