Dark Scizor Δημοσ. 31 Δεκεμβρίου 2005 Δημοσ. 31 Δεκεμβρίου 2005 Από το labs.divx.com: DivX Browser Plug-In (Beta 1) The DivX Browser Plug-In is back! After receiving lots of great feedback last year on our experimental ActiveX control for Internet Explorer that played high quality DivX videos from the web live inside the browser, we decided to rewrite a fully featured DivX Browser Plug-In from scratch - cleaner, leaner, meaner than before, and here it is! Currently this beta runs only on Windows, but all of the following browsers are now supported: * Internet Explorer (5.0 and above) * Firefox (1.0 and above) * Mozilla (1.7 and above) * Netscape (8.0 and above) MacOS X and Linux versions are also just around the corner... How to try it out: All you need to do is download the DivX Browser Plug-In for Windows, install it, and then point your browser at one of these sample pages: * Sample #1: Batman Begins Trailer with simple play controls * Sample #2: X-Men 3 Trailer with extended play controls * Sample #3: Underworld Evolution Trailer with minimized play controls Each of the sample pages use the browser plugin to play standard Home Theater profile DivX video files directly from our webserver - there is no special streaming server required. All of the files are hosted on a regular http server with no special configuration changes applied. This means you can use the plug-in on your own web site really easily! Features This beta version of the browser plug-in is already very fully featured. Here are just some of the things you can do with it: * Playback DivX AVI files (DivX 5/6 video + MP3 audio) stored on a regular webserver live in your browser * Save files to to disk so that you can replay them later with the free DivX Player * Monitor your connection speed and the download buffer during playback * Watch video in windowed mode or blow it up to fullscreen * Seek and trick play into the download buffer * Change preferences for the download behavior * Check for updates and instantly update the plug-in (with prompting) * Awesome™ playback performance ...and even more we haven't finished yet! Known issues The beta plug-in may be unable to display video if other software on your computer is already using your video hardware. If you experience problems try closing media players and other open pages containing the browser plug-in. Feedback & Testing We need your feedback to make the Plug-In even better. Please tell us about what you like and dislike, as well as reporting any bugs you find in the Beta Release Feedback forum. If you want to get your hands dirty building the plug-in into your own website you can also download the DivX Browser Plug-In Webmaster SDK and start hacking away! Remember that you don't need to install anything on the server to use the plug-in, so it can be integrated into almost any webpage or blog. Go nuts! Credits Major kudos go to our man Damien for building this plug-in. Not that he had much choice - we locked him in a room for three months and wouldn't let him out until it was done. No, really... we did. It wasn't a pretty sight when we let him out, but then it wasn't a pretty sight when we put him in there either. Just kidding D Much respect Screenshots Plug-in preferences Windowed mode Posted by DigitAl56K at December 28, 2005 03:34 PM
