This kind of online update was last seen in the GT5: Prologue demo, where we enjoyed additional cars, news (if you could read Japanese) and GT-TV programs as the weeks progressed. In a similar vein, Burnout Paradise will feature new challenges and races as time moves closer to launch date. A great incentive to leave the demo on your hard drive and keep coming back to it to see what's new. To keep a check on what is coming, just hit the right button and choose 'news' from the menu anywhere in the game.

It looks like thatʼs all about to change as the company now has job openings for console programmers on its website. More specifically, the company is looking for programmers and producers familiar with the Xbox 360 hardware. That's not what has people thinking the job is for The Witcher though. The job requires the Xbox 360 programmer to be skilled in “parallel programming”. This basically means “porting” a program that's designed to work in one environment into a near identical product that can perform in a different environment (or architecture). This is on top of the fact that they posted the ad on The Witcher website.

It's clear Blue Dragon was planned from the start to be a franchise. Talk of a sequel began before the game's release in North America and a DS spin-off is confirmed as in the works. So when will that inevitable sequel be coming? Comments from Xbox Japan head Takashi Sensui (via CVG) suggest it could be next year already. In an interview with Jiji Press, Sensui explained Microsoft's intent to double the number of Xbox 360 games in Japan in the year 2008. Heading off that list of releases will be a proposed Blue Dragon 2. When the game's producer, Hironobu Sakaguchi, previously discussed a Blue Dragon sequel, he hinted that the game "may be produced as an online title." Whatever form it shows up in, if they're planning to get Blue Dragon 2 out in 2008, we'd expect an official announcement sooner rather than later. We'll keep our ears to the ground.

A Warner/Reprise Track Pack is being prepped, and set to include Linkin Park's "No More Sorrow", Mastadon's "Sleeping Giant" and The Used's "Pretty Handsome Awkward", all based on master recordings. Advertisement Single-song downloads are also planned from "European bands", including Extremoduro's "So Payaso", Trust's "Antisocial" and Die Fantastischen Vier's "Ernten War Wir Säen". Finally, Activision is set to release a free "exclusive rock rendition" of "We Three Kings" recorded by Steve Ouimette. Pricing for the others has yet to be specified, but track packs typically cost 500 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Marketplace and USD 6.25 on the PlayStation 3 Store. So, look out for those soon. We've asked Activision for more details (and details on when PS3 owners can expect some of the other DLC already out on Xbox 360), and hope to hear back soon.

The new feature is automatically available for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system when connected online. It will be available on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system later this month. In NBA LIVE 08, all 10 players on the floor can now be controlled by individual users on 10 different consoles, removing the use of artificial intelligence altogether. Player movement, decision making and game outcome can now be completely dependant on how you play as an online team, bringing you closer to a real life game of basketball than ever before. This new game mode enables any number of players from one to five on different consoles to connect and play online against another team of up to five players on five different consoles. The CPU will take control of any players not controlled by users.

Updated versions of two classics will make their way onto the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday: Sensible World of Soccer, a beloved Codemasters sports title, and Tempest, an influential arcade shooter. Sensible World of Soccer goes HD and draws on the 96 / 97 original and features solo career mode and an Xbox Live online Challenge Mode. Tempest is an arcade classic in which players must harness their firepower to shoot and destroy enemy hordes in an intense fight for survival across fluorescent geometric battlefields. Sensible World of Soccer will cost 800 MS points, and Tempest will run you 400 MS points to download.
