Track and Field Coming This Wednesday

 

This Wednesday, you can log virtual track time and give your fingers and thumbs a workout with “Track & Field” from Konami. Originally released in 1983, Track & Field was an arcade smash. The updated version for Xbox LIVE Arcade features the same button mashing game mechanic as the original, and now allows for up to four player multiplayer competition on one Xbox 360 or over Xbox LIVE. The game will be available to download on Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday, August 8 beginning at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PDT).

Microsoft Lowers Price of Xbox 360 by $50

 

Price drop coincides with release of “Madden NFL 08” on Xbox 360, one of many titles that make up the greatest holiday lineup in video game history.

 

REDMOND, Wash. — Aug. 6, 2007 — Microsoft Corp. today kicked off the greatest holiday lineup in video game history by announcing it will reduce the estimated retail price (ERP) of Xbox 360™ by $50 (U.S.) beginning Aug. 8. Soon to follow, Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) will release its blockbuster video game title “Madden NFL 08” on Aug. 14. “Madden NFL Football,” one of the most important mass-appeal franchises in video games, was the top-selling game of 2006 and is the top-selling franchise of the past 10 years. Η Bizarre Creations, μετά τις πολλές και ποικίλες αντιδράσεις σχετικά με τη δήλωσή της περί περιορισμών στο PGR4 λόγω χωρητικότητας του DVD, αναγκάστηκε να τονίσει σήμερα το πρωί ότι παρερμηνεύτηκαν τα λεγόμενα του στελέχους της.

Στο επίσημο site της εταιρίας έχει αναρτηθεί η επίσημη θέση, η οποία αναφέρει τα εξής: «ήρθε η ώρα να ξεκαθαρίσουμε τα πράγματα.

Το μέγεθος του DVD δεν είναι από τα θέματα που εξετάζουμε όταν αναπτύσσουμε ένα παιχνίδι και το PGR4 δεν αποτελεί εξαίρεση στο παραπάνω.

Το DVD9 μας επιτρέπει αρκετό χώρο να δημιουργήσουμε ένα τίτλο που θα προσφέρει διασκέδαση.

Xbox 360 System update

 

Moments ago, the team released a system update (aka Dash update) to Xbox Live. Over the next few hours, when you sign in to Xbox LIVE, youʼll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. Whatʼs in this update? The only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the wireless guitars that are being released in a few months.

No new features beyond this wireless support are included in this update. As usual, weʼve got some new features planned for later this year as part of our biannual release cycle.
