Daredevil Δημοσ. 31 Ιουλίου 2007 Δημοσ. 31 Ιουλίου 2007 Bizarre having problems fitting PGR 4 onto one DVD 'Ben', a member of staff from Bizarre Creations has commented on their Official forums that the development team are having problems putting all the new complex PGR 4 environments onto one single DVD. His comments came specifically in relation to the different times of the day which the game will feature. quote: You won't see different times of day per city because this involves recreating all the textures again (one for day and one for night). Whilst this wasn't a problem for our dev team, it was a problem fitting all this data onto a single DVD. So we've worked around the problem by providing different lighting models per city. For example, Macau is always in the daytime, but if you play it during a storm everything looks darker and more foreboding. If you play during a blizzard then things are slightly tinged blue and everything seems more frozen. Of course, playing this track in sunshine will make everything appear bright and yellowy. Outside is a beautiful lake, surrounded by the picturesque town of Kirkland, just a spit from Seattle. But we donʼt care. Because weʼre sat in the world-famous Bungie studios, after Microsoft secretly jetted us over to the West Coast. And weʼre now about to become the first magazine/website/anything in the entire world to pick up a controller (with trembling hands) and blast through Halo 3 single player. Predictably, the notoriously paranoid developer hasnʼt surprised us with any narrative twists – itʼs still monosyllabic Master Chief smacking down those devious Covenant. Instead, FHMʼs been dropped straight into the action, squealing like a girl. Across two immense Saving Private Ryanstyle levels, more enemies dance in front of our eyes than ever before, with new weapons to tote, new vehicles to trash and the shiniest, peachiest visuals weʼve ever witnessed. And itʼs dripping with next-gen trickery, from eye-caressingly sharp graphics to anally impressive sound. For example, watch (and listen) as a single ejected bullet casing springs out… and then keeps bouncing past your ears, depending on the surface it has dropped on. Better still, the gameplayʼs got even better. The levels we played ended with a ludicrous boss battle against a 50ft Covenant Scarab, in a single dust-up that features more enemies on screen than the entire first mission in Halo. And by God we know: weʼve battled it to within an inch of its life. Or is it the other way round? Ten hours later, weʼre a sweaty pile of grinning goon on the floor. One of our thumbs may have come off. In short? This game is ridiculous. But we like it. A lot. And trust us: so will you
