The content - Xbox Live's first ever serialisation of a full retail game - will be made available for owners of Tomb Raider Legend to purchase through Xbox Live Marketplace. In September "Episodes 1 & 2" will be offered along with a free training mission ("Croft Manor"). The following two episodes will arrive "shortly afterwards". Eidos then plans to release a full retail version of Tomb Raider Anniversary "later in the year" that will put it within reach of gamers who didn't buy Legend. Tomb Raider Legend owners will have to pay 2400 Microsoft points (GBP 20.40 / EUR 27.91 / USD 29.99) for all four episodes. Jane Cavanagh, chief executive of Eidos' parent company SCi, said the episodic approach was part of the publisher's strategy to grow its presence in online and digital distribution. "Lara has always been at the forefront of technology and this world first initiative with Microsoft really highlights that fact. Ultimately we also intend to make the title available at retail so that it reaches the maximum possible audience," Cavanagh said in a statement. xrest Δημοσ. 18 Ιουνίου 2007 Δημοσ. 18 Ιουνίου 2007 3D Realms' new shooter revealed Half-Life-esque Earth No More heading to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from ex-Max Payne devs The first info is beginning to trickle in on 3D Realms' promised "big announcement", Earth No More, a new Xbox 360, PS3 and PC shooter from ex-Max Payne devs Recoil Gamers. Revealed in the latest Game Informer, officially the last remaining source of videogame reveals, Earth No More looks a bit like 28 Days Later crossed with War of the Worlds - but without any of the aliens. The story opens in a small New England town quarantined due to a mysterious outbreak. Poison red Vines spread quickly, terraforming the environment and surrounding wildlife. Trying to avoid genre clichιs, the source of the spore isn't from space, but man's own abuse and tampering of mother earth. Apparently the main focus of the game will be on human interaction, with a conversation mechanic said to rival that of Mass Effect - a bloody tall statement indeed. You play as a young chap in the epicentre of the outbreak, along with a team of four mates each with their own back stories, motivations and secrets. According to the GI article, you'll get to see "real character growth" in the game. There's more than a whiff of Half-Life 2 in the first details; ENM is totally without cut-scenes and features a team mechanic similar to that of Valve's shooter (though hopefully with more depth). Interestingly, Recoil Gamers promises online co-op for the entire campaign, allowing players to jump in and control single-player enemies much like upcoming PC shooter The Crossing. With a 2009 date touted, it's a still a bit early to be getting excited. Who wants to take bets it'll be out before Duke Nukem, though?
