CVG Blue Dragon Review 9/10

 

Blue Dragon's pedigree - Toriyama's artwork, Sakaguchi's design, and music from Nobuo Uematsu (aka Final Fantasy soundtrack composer extraordinaire) - is almost tangible. The game reeks of class. It probably won't be enough to save the Xbox 360 in Japan, but we're already looking forward the Blue Dragon's announced sequel.

 

 

Verdict

Blue Dragon is an instant classic of an RPG. You'll be hearing a lot more about this one in the future, mark our words.

Blue Dragon runs in 1080p (if you have the pricey kit), but even in 720p (the not-quite-so-pricey kit we're playing on) it looks good enough to give our retinas an anatomy-defying orgasm. There are huge wilderness areas with lovely elemental effects on show, contrasting with intricately designed villages, towns, and bulbous spaceships. It's a world full of rich colour - but more importantly, it has a consistency that's rarely seen outside of Nintendo's finest Zelda games.

BIG Rumor: Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to Xbox 360, PS3 Loses Exclusivity

 

This rumor typifies what a rumor is deemed to be - unlikely, made up and most likely false. It has spread around the web and well there is a small possibility it could be true, Konami will reportedly release MGS4 on the Xbox 360 a few months afer the PS3's release. Why? Because it's believed there will be a low PS3 count due to the production problems and slow up-take.
