Two new 360 pads?

 

CVG learns two new versions of the Xbox 360 controller are doing the developer rounds

 

Speaking this afternoon to CVG, Konami's PES producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka has revealed he's currently in possession of two new Xbox 360 controllers and is playing around with them at the PES HQ.

 

Microsoft sent Seabass the two controllers to allow him to test re-mapped button configurations for PES, the best footy game in town, presumably to make the game as playable on an Xbox 360 pad as it is on the PS2.

 

It's no secret that the best pad to play Pro Evolution Soccer on is Sony's classic Dual Shock.

 

This also ties in nicely to previous reports that Microsoft has a unique FPS pad in testing for Xbox 360 too.

Microsoft's Japan-only Blue Dragon bundle

 

 

 

If you're wondering why us round-eyes ain't gonna see a price break on the Xbox 360 this holiday, Japan might have something to do with it.

 

See, Microsoft has put together this sweet, Japan-only Blue Dragon bundle that probably ain't gonna do much to enhance the company's bottom line (read: it's likely subsidized), but will (they hope) juice the 360's pitiable sales in that country.

 

For just ¥29,800 (approximately $252 at the time of this writing), Japanese gamers will walk off with a basic Xbox 360, the Blue Dragon game itself, a limited-edition faceplate (aren't they all?), and five Blue Dragon figurines, according to the fine folks over at Siliconera.

Tony Hawkʼs Project 8 demo coming soon

 

Activision updated the official THPS8 website. Not only does it feature a buttload of Flash animations to hog your system resources, it also has a button at the bottom stating that thereʼs a demo available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo isnʼt available yet but it probably wont be long until it is.

Thereʼs no indication of the demoʼs contents yet but be sure to read our little preview if youʼre wondering what THPS8 is like. THPS8 is scheduled for the 7th of November for the US and the 17th of November for EU on Xbox 360, Xbox, Playstation 2 and PSP.
