Rumor: X06 Announcement Round-Up

NeoSeeker forum member posted up what looks to be predictions for Microsoft's X06 conference coming later this week to Barcelona, Spain.

 

* Tommorow is the X06 conference in Barcelona. Some info has been leaked including some big surprises. Here is a list of what is going to be anounced tommorow. Tune in for the confernce at Xbox.com from 6pm GMT.

* Gears of War single player and multiplayer videos shown. Playable on show floor.

* HD-DVD anouncement. Release date and price for Europe and United States. £119.99/E149.99 and December 1st release in Europe.$199.99 USD and November 24th release in US.

All will be bundled with Universal Media Remote.

* A new Halo 3 trailer is shown. Some multiplayer info revealed. Aiming for 50-64 player online. Announce that Halo 3 will be the first game to run natively on 1080p. They will make full use of this update. Available in 2007. Playable behind closed doors.

* More info about 1080p and how it will be done. New dashboard announcement. Release date revealed for late November. Will allow users to try out homebrew content made with XNA game express.

* More news on Live Anywhere and how it will function. Talk about function with Zune and XBLA titles.

* Rare show off new version of Killer Instinct for the 360. Will support 4 player tag matches. Playable on show floor.

* Alan Wake shown and fully playable. Will also be availble on Windows Vista. Coming this Spring.

* Fable 2 trailer shown. Multiplayer confirmed.

* Black Xbox 360 anounced. Available this Christmas around the world. New Xbox 360 core and premium bundles shown. Xbox 360 Classics game list. Kameo, PDZ included. More this spring including Oblivion.

* Many more videos and games are playable. I have just listed some of the major ones.

You would have thought that with Gears of War, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 that weʼd had all the Xbox 360 announcements this year. However, with third party support at an all-time high and Microsoft Game Studios putting out AAA title after AAA title, you can be sure that there will be more to come at X06.

 

Youʼll be able to get the official word first, only on Xbox.com. On Wednesday, from 6pm BST youʼll be able to see the press conference live and direct to your desktop. Whatʼs more, weʼll have all the news from the show with interviews and the latest game trailers, direct from the show floor.

 

So watch this space and set the date in your diary – X06 promises to be huge for Xbox 360 gamers!

NBA 2K7 Hits the Court

2K Sports ships out another B-balling title.

 

bxdKdoi,bcrusAkntqhnRToday 2K Sports, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive, announced it is shipping NBA 2k7 for the Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS2 to stores across North America.

 

 

"Without a doubt, this is definitely our finest basketball effort to date and possibly the finest sports title we've made," stated Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "NBA 2K7 delivers the next generation details that sports gamers have wanted. The development team has worked extremely hard to not only set a new standard in visual quality, but also develop new gameplay features that we believe will set a new standard for the next generation of sports games."

 

NBA 2K7 continues the annual basketball game assault with a streetball story mode called 24/7 NEXT, redesigned Create Player system, and a comprehensive franchise mode. NBA 2K7 boasts 30 new gameplay cameras which help show off 300 unique animations in jumpshot, dunks, dribbles, and other basketball related movements.

 

2K7 also features online stat tracking, tournament features, and online fantasy leagues.

 

NBA 2K7 is available for X360 for $59.99 and for the Xbox and PS2 for $29.99. A version for the Sony PlayStation 3 is due tto ship this holiday season.

Aside from a confusing menu interface, 2K7 offers just about everything you could ask for. The gamemodes are deep and plentiful, and the ambiant touches on the floor add the style 2K was missing.

At times, simply gorgeous. Only some alien player faces can hold back the gorgeous animations and replays that will make you go pause.

 

8.0 Sound

Decent commentary and crowd noice, helped by a stellar hip-hop soundtrack.

Subtle improvements to the aging gameplay engine help 2K7 shine, yet problems with defense and clock AI persist.

 

9.0 Lasting Appeal

Association is awesome. You could spend days doing pre-draft workouts, if you wanted. 2K's online options continue to dunk on the competition.
